Fine.

Processed food is still food.

Same sex legalized unions is not marriage, because marriage is between a man and a woman.  Much like how blueberry pie is not apple pie, because apple pie is made with apples and not blueberries.
Unless we define marriage to include both straight and gay couples. Marriage is just a concept. There's nothing preventing us from expanding it.

There's no precedent for it either.

Well, actually, eleven states allow it, so there is a precedent.

Several states seceded back in the day.   We saw how that worked out.   Sometimes states are dumber than the Feds.

It's not a game.  I'm trying to understand you, and right now I don't.

"Processed food is still food."

Right, and I can say "same-sex marriage is still marriage."  And you'd say, no, marriage is between man and woman.  And I'd say, no, food is something you hunt and kill, or something you eat that grew from the ground.  It's been a fundamental part of human society for tens of thousands of years.

What am I missing?

If you're not understanding my point after 220 pages, you're either being intentionally obstinate or you have some sort of learning disability.

Whichever it is, I'm not interested in arguing the same point for another 220 pages.

States control marriage laws, not the Feds.

And, regardless of who is smarter, there is a precedent for including gay couples in marriage.

I'm not asking you to repeat yourself.  I've used your argument for why we shouldn't allow same-sex marriage and applied it to food.  I'm asking you for the difference between the two.  If you don't want to talk about it, I'll move on.

You're right.  Well except for the fact that there isn't.   One man, one woman has never been altered.

So you think your food holds the same emotional value as your marriage.

OK then.

Good luck with that marriage thing.

Eleven states allow gay marriage. So it has.

Feds do not recognize that union as marriage.

Feds do not recognize that union as marriage.
Sure, DOMA has prevented that since the 1990's. but DOMA is about to be tossed by SCOTUS.

And, anyway, 11 states allow gay couples to marry, so your point that gay marriage is unprecedented is incorrect.

Several states seceded back in the day.   We saw how that worked out.   The Feds said "No thank you" with force.   Think those 11 states will take up arms to defend their gay marriage?

39 states say there is no such thing as gay marriage.

Plus, calling a blueberry an apple, because a law says it should be called an apple, doesn't make it an apple.

Unless you think it does.

Do you?
