LOL I never saw Mike's post to anton's reply a month and a half ago.  Awesome.

So, the fun begins.  Team President Jeff Wilpon hints that something significant could be happening this afternoon.  Mets fans get excited.  GM Sandy Alderson, when approached with this rumor, denies it, makes a weird face, and walks away. (thats what was actually reported. he made a weird face and walked away)

But the Mets did announce that Boys2Men and Huey Lewis and the News will be preforming post-game concerts this year.  Maybe that was Jeff's big news.

Mets spend $7.25M on Chris Young, a guy who never could hit RHP when he was "good" and batted .200 last year.  Off-season off to a great start.

Mets sign Granderson to 4 year, $60 mil deal.  Grab a power OF bat they needed.  Compared to a lot of the deals going down, this seems like good value.

A fair deal.  Of course, the ol' "If he stays healthy" applies but it mostly seemed like bad luck last season.   Not sure how much his power will be affected by the ballpark.   Take homers away from his game and his value is GREATLY diminished.

Assuming his power is back to 2012 levels, the move might cost him 5 or 6 home runs. Here's a link to a 2012 home run chart with a citi field overlay.

Yea if he averages 30 homers over the 4 years I'm happy.  Even 25.  Mets don't have much when it comes to power, this is nice.
