also does it have to be their primary position? ie dale murphy played c and of and had some seasons where he appeared in both positions. Can he be drafted as either if he has games played there? And if he is selected as a catcher,can he be stuck in the of as a starter?

does not have to br primary position but for example babe ruth couldnt play second base. they have to have played atleast one game at the other position. as  far murphy goes... if you wanted him to be your catcher.. your pitching would have to come from the same franchise he caught for,

Obviously, Oakland covers Philly A's (1901-54) and KC A's (1955-67) and Atlanta covers Boston NL (Braves, Bees, etc.) (1901-52) and Milwaukee Braves (1953-65).
