Growing up in Sunnyvale, CA, the first team I ever followed was the 1971 Giants. My dad brought home a program with old, almost over-the-hill players like Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, and Juan Marichal. My favorite player on that team was the dynamic Bobby Bonds, followed by Ken Henderson (who lived in Sunnyvale too). Tito Fuentes used to bounce his bat off of the plate and flip it to start every AB.
