Getting Recruits to Consider Your School Topic

1. The 690 is compared to other teams effort. If the other team has 1690, you won't get considered. If there is no other suitors, 550ish usually works.

2. I update this a couple times a year. I am always tweaking the #s
I believe that how much it takes to get considered is related to how highly ranked the recruit is and how highly rated your school is.

If Kentucky makes a small effort on a kid who is just a one star it is easier to get him to consider than if the Little Sisters of the Poor try.

Agree with this, and I suspect D1/D2/D3 might matter some in addition to that.

At one point, my go-to 'get on the list cheap' move at D3, for a normal player relative to my prestige, was the 10-10-1-1.  10 calls+10 letters+1 HV+offer.  That only adds up to 450 on the TJ scale and it's worked for me a pretty high % of the time.

Did the work right off the bat? On day 1 of recruiting?

Pretty sure even right off the bat, although I haven't done exactly that recently.

They stack but the issue will phone calls and packet is they don't have "recruiting value" until you get out past 1500 miles or so..   Think of it this way, your effort equates to some sort of numerical value.

The value chart is something like this:

Phone call= 2
Letters =3
ST= 60
HV= 150
CV= 350
Scholarship= 250
Promised Start= 250
Promised minutes= 5 * minutes promised

Those aren't right but they are in the ball park.   You have to accumulate so many points before a recruit considers you.  It's probably somewhere around  400 using those values.
Updated.

So this limit on calls and letters at somewhere around 60 .. is that 60 each (so 60 letters at 2 == 120 for $600, and 60 x3 = 180 effort for 60x15=$900) .. or there abouts?
2/16/2015 7:15 PM
I think so.

So if those numbers are close, then this is the break down of what is most cost effective:

0-360 miles:  HV, CV, ST, LTR

370-1400 miles:  CV, HV, LTR, ST

> 1400 miles:  LTR, CV, HV, ST

So there would be a point for international recruits, where a CV is $3,500 that HV and CV are the same, and above that point, HVs are actually more cost effective than CVs for internationals .. that looks to be about 6600 miles .. I don't have anyone at that distance to check currently.

One of the things that "stumps" me (at D2 and D3) is that 1 HV doesn't always work but 40/40 always does.....what  I am interested in is the minimum it takes to sign for the cheapest amount......30/30 and ten minutes has done it for me, I am going to try 20/20 and 10 minutes soon

Meaning 40 calls and 40 letters?

Do you think it's possible that there are "bonus" or "penalty" combinations of recruiting effort? Perhaps an HV is a little more valuable after the recruit has "gotten to know you" through calls, letters and STs. Imagine a non-big-6 coach showing up at your door without ever having been introduced? Creepy! Well, it's one explanation to why the 40/40 or 30/30 works and the HV doesn't in that case. You could try 1/1 with an HV and see if that matters.

"Hey, I just met you. And this is crazy. But here's a schollie. So consider me maybe."

I have heard really good recruiters talk about a "synergy" with actions but I haven't seen it.....I think it would be cool if there was but I think it is just a straight algebriac formula.
