It looks like my two options for shortstop are

(plus about 100 pas from a weak Blauser season.)


I'm asking hall all the hof's here, which is more valuable in this sim, stephen's bat or sanchez's glove? Keep on mind any good advice you give can and will be used against you:)!

Ther are a lot of variables.  Do you need the extra $2.2M to upgrade somewhere else?  What are your pitchers' whip?  How good is the rest of your offense?
Yeah, I know there are a lot of contextual variables to consider, but I guess I'm just trying to figure out how to value defense. Other things being equal, is it better to have a ss with a high ops or high fielding percentage and range?

I have 2 great starters and one good reliever (whip<1)' the rest of my staff is pretty bad. And yeah, if I need salary cap room, then my decision might be made for me.

Personally, I don't think Stephens' defense is bad enough to downgrade tpo Sanchez' offense.   Heck, I am considering moving '96 Chipper to shortstop (B+/D) if I decide to keep him on the team.  At least you have some options...

That was my initial thought as well. It would take a lot of errors and minus plays to make up for the loss of obp and slugging that Stephens offers...
