DII Knight - Which Conference should I join? Topic

I thought about Virginia St before I made this post....the problem with them is they have 6 FR, so it would take longer than I would like to get the program in the right direction, but I will watch to see if any bail from the central.  And it seems like the Southern conference has the most active CC.  Can't wait to see what may open up tonight!

4 NT's in 4 seasons... what other conference has done that? Heartland all the way.

Ahem.

DIIConference RPI
1. Central .5639
2. N.American .5540
3. Heartland .5493
4. Cal. CAA .5436
5. Great NW .5321
6. GLIAC .5230
7. Penn. St. .5081
8. Lone Star .5061
9. N. Sun .5035
10. Southern .5029
literally the first time in like 10 seasons the CCAA was not on top.

Also of note is how bad the CCAA has destroyed the Heartland in the Heartland-CCAA Challenge over the years. Aint that right, dac?
we prefer to look at the 1st round of this season's NT head to head with the CCAA... for obvious reasons. Also I'm pretty sure the Heartland finished ahead of the CCAA in RPI at some point there, but I can't prove it or anything...
Another note on the Call CAA challenge:  There was a twelve season hiatus and during that Hiatus, well, things changed up a wee bit.  I believe the 'overwhelming lead' since the challenge started back up again is something like 12-10.

I'm just enjoying the RPI standings being quoted over and over again.  Congrats to rogelio and twiddlebug!

We have lots of post season cash and you can always make some cuts.

I'm amused how there's all this debate about all these conferences that are 3rd, or 4th, or 8th, or 10th in the RPI, and the #2 conference with an A+ job open is just chillin'.

Gotta say Heartland was the first response to the OP from a coach not even in the conference or the world for that matter. Regardless of RPI which I know seems to be the mearsuring stick - I think that speaks volumes lol.

I'm in D3 so I really don't have the sense of them. I get the impression by looking at the histories of some of the schools in the conferences that the top 4-5 in the RPI are all really, really good, but that the Central, Heartland, and CCAA are more traditional powers and NAAA is a Johnny-come-lately (but a pretty good one). It was just amusing.

So I know joey has already made his call, but in case anyone was also hanging around this thread and thinking about moving up, I just moved up into the North American, and it has 10 human coaches and was #2 in RPI last year. One of the two available sims, UMass, Lowell, has six open scholarships. Maybe other folks don't like the "pull off the band-aid in year one" rebuilds like I do, but I'm surprised it hasn't been grabbed. I love the schools where you can make your mark immediately.
