I'm pretty sure he was hitting something like .300/.400/.525 at the AS break, too. Or approaching the AS break. He was a really obvious choice. It wasn't until later 2014 that it started looking like there might be a problem with his work ethic and on-field motivation. Through the middle of 2014 he looked like he was about to become the best player in the NL.
