I'm going to use the high EFG% Harden. He will play 13 minutes behind Kidd and 12 minutes behind Magic and then a few minutes at SF. The assist % of my projected starters is over 93%. I wish that Harden had 4 usage points but he is a complimentary player. It looks like the other teams will have to play honest defense. Hopefully, Ewing will be the offensive beast that I envision. There aren't many players with over 29% usage that have 55% EFG for 40 mpg.  Harden, Dampier and Lee are low turnover players with high EFG% that don't foul a lot. So I am very hopeful.

But I thought that my Artis Gilmore, Deron Williams, Marques Johnson team 2 seasons ago was really good too and it sucked. Of course I stupidly took Vince Carter to play at SG and that poisoned the team.

Look I know that we all really enjoy and repect natenoy . . . but at this point is his team possibly worse than pennsylvania's? I can see games where McAdoo and Rudy T shoot well and Archibald is getting assists. Elvin Hayes will have good rebounding games and has that high defense. All that being said I forecast about 20 wins for this team. Billy Cunningham's very low EFG%, high usage, terrible turnovers and fouls per 48 minutes just kills the team, Plus Hayes extremely poor EFG% and high usage dooms the team too.

I don't see anything to stop me from playing -2 against Wilt and double teaming him. Korver is a 1 usage point player and he will rarely take a lot of shots. Wilt will shoot well below 50% in this league (using the 6162 season). I really don't see him going for many 60 plus point games in this league either. He won't have enough shot attempts IMO to average much more than 40 mpg. Playing Korver at the SF position kills the rebound advantage that Wilt and Love have over the competition. I know that McMillan and Walker rebound very well for guards but I still think that this team will lose the possession battle. I would be very surprised if this squad exceeds 30 wins. But there's a great chance that nate will get a shot to use Lebron next season LOL.

Okay guys you tell me which of these 2 teams is worse.

Cunningham and Archibald is too much to handle. Sadly, I would say Penn's team looks worse at the moment.

This post makes me feel tempted to try the 50ppg Wilt in this league myself. I wonder if I can convince next season's Wilt picker, if I don't win the lottery myself, to swap draft spot with me with guarantee that I would go for the scoring record and not wins.

Vance,

I still have two +$4mill players and one solid $3-4mill player to add. My drafted RL triples will be over 400 at better than 40%. Also I believe I have pinpointed what is needed for an efg% boost and IMO Wilt will shoot close to 55%. In the 12-13 league I have Korver over 70% in efg right now. Not to mention my pf rate will be around .065 depending on which players remain for me at the end. My starting lineup will have a combined dreb% close to or over 100%. My drafted efg will be close to 53%, I expect a boost from that, my team will be near elite in drebs and adequate in orebs and I'll have one of if not THE lowest foul rate in the league, plus at least one of my final picks will be a 90+ D player giving me an average close to or over 70. Please draft me with your first pick.

And yes the Love pick likely costs Wilt his 50ppg, but I could not resist the low fouls high reb combo that he and Wilt create.

BTW nate from what I can tell you will end up with about 22K minutes drafted which is about 11% more than the optimal number that was used by the 3 Wilt teams that all won titles.

Okay nate based on your analysis what if the over/under on wins for your team?

Will we see evals for 7-man teams?

And 98, are you still cooking up power rankings?

What I like: efg%, rb%, ast% and very low tov. What I don't like: def (esp in the backcourt), no paint presence and need more points. I'm looking at 45 wins I think.

Yes to 7 man, dragging my feet.

No predictions until I have my final roster, but I'll have a winning record.
8/1/2013 1:25 PM
Hi nate. I am listening but I have another question. In this league how can a team with 22K minutes drafted end up with a winning record? I don't think that 's a feat that has ever been done before.
8/1/2013 2:45 PM
Extra minutes do not matter as long as the ones you actually use fit together. Rodman costs less than some players that hurt you, but we would all agree that a team with Rodman and extra minutes left over is better than a team with a bad player and no minutes left over.
