I have been participating in the Career Progressive League started by gigrant and have enjoyed it so much that I was inspired to start a 1941 version (Note-looks like we will switch to 1961, seems to be more demand) .

In the Diamond Legends (or Career) WIS leagues, players use their average career statistics. In this specific league, that will mean using their average career statistics in a progressive from their first year of eligibility starting in 1961 through their last year of WIS eligibility. In this league, Hank Aaron (whose rookie season of WIS eligibility was 1954) will be eligible every season from 1961-1976-no IR seasons !!

The league will be 16 teams, Alternate WIS format B (4 teams make playoffs) No DH,No WW, No AAA, No injuries. Salary Cap $80 million. We will use the 16 of the 18 major league team names in use in 1961.There will be a draft for team selection which will be in inverse order from the first round of the player draft-in other words, the owner who drafts last in the first round of the player draft will draft first in team selection. 

The initial draft will be snake style random lottery using random.org. I will do the random lottery but regardless of the results of the lottery I will not draft higher than 5th. Subsequent drafts will be in inverse order of finish except that for the first round only there will be a random weighted lottery among the 4 teams with the worst record (4 chances for the team with the worst record, 3 chance for 2nd worst etc.). The tiebreaker will be run differential (runs scored less runs allowed) with the team with the worst run differential drafting higher.

When do we pick which teams we'll be using?  i.e. Yankees, Dodgers, etc.  I assume this will also indicate which field we'll be using.

bnicarlson, as soon as the league is full I'll run the random lottery for player draft and the team selection will be in inverse order of the first round of the player draft. The team selection will be in a separate thread. The owner with the #16 pick in the player draft will have the #1 pick in team selection.

Stadiums will be limited to the 16 used in 1941.

Count me in for this one too.

I'm in....because I need another league to frustrate me the last 15 games of a season.

I also wonder if it would be wise to include a rule saying you cannot draft one of these 1901 pitchers in the 1st round of any season's draft.....It would help prevent the top 2 or 3 teams from one year effectively ending the upcoming season by drafting Young and ensuring a second straight championship run.....could be disheartening for the previous year's also rans.
