Pre-Conference Tourney (PCT) Chat Topic

The plan is to invite (1) team to represent the Power 6 conferences and then (2) additional teams from outside the Power 6. We will schedule these games this next season Season 68 so that we may play them out in the following season (Season 69)...If you switch schools after the games have been scheduled, the new coach would be in the tournament but it will add you to the top of the list for a future season...

We will play these games between games 4 and 10 on the schedule so you have the 1st (3) games open to do as you choose. In figuring out who should invite who, the home team should invite on each game and the visiting team will accept the invite. Please don't schedule your 3 freebie games until AFTER you have scheduled your entire tourney in case one team messes up and schedules the wrong team or a team accepts the wrong challenge...

With all of that said, here is the schedule for the Season 69 Pre-Conference Tourney (PCT)...

So as you can see, this is a very daunting field for this 1st installment and the winner will have earned the title of PCT Champion! We hope to offer standings and recaps throughout the tournament so everyone can keep up with the exciting action...I will set up a chat board in Wooden World discussion so that everyone has a location to go and chat or keep updated with what's going on...If someone would like to set up a blogsite, go for it...

Glad to have you all here and best of luck!

Standings through 4 games:

Cal 4-0
Texas 3-1
Villanova 3-1
Michigan 3-1
South Carolina 2-2
Utah 1-3
Miami Florida 0-4
Princeton 0-4

Can anyone chase down Cal? Looking like they are in the driver's seat at the moment with 3 teams nipping at their heals.

Looking forward to seeing the Rpi's when they are released.

I hope to be better in next season's tournament.  My team is quite young this year.

Cal dominated Villanova on our home court. They look like the top dog, but they still have to get by Texas (so do I ).

10/14/2013 11:02 AM
We lost to Texas by 3 @ home and South Carolina by 9 @ home (very close the whole game until about a minute and a half to go). I'm happy we are competing but now need to get a big win.

Updated Standings Through 5 Games:

Cal 5-0
Michigan 4-1
Texas 3-2
Villanova 3-2
SouthCarolina 3-2
Utah 1-4
Miami Floida 1-4
Princeton 0-5

With 2 games to go, Cal looks to be in the driver's seat to bring home the PCT banner for the Pac 10 Conference...It is looking like Michigan is the only one with a shot to dethrone them but with a game at Cal on the horizon, it seems highly unlikely...

Stay tuned as the tourney is wrapping up and several teams are jockeying for a better position come tourney end...

Updated above with the results of this past season...

Congrats again to Texas on winning the National Championship and here's to hoping that the National Champ can from an entrant in our tourney each season. As you can see, all teams made a tournament and the SOS #'s were excellent!!!

Thanks again for playing and here's to many more great tourney's in the seasons ahead...

Here are the standings through 5 games in Season 70 PCT...

Cal 5-0
Villanova 5-0
Miami , FL 4-1
UNLV 2-3
Michigan 2-3
Missouri 2-3
Mississippi 0-5
Brown 0-5

It is looking like a battle between Cal and Villanova is looming in the final games of the tourney to decide the champion. However Miami of Florida remains in the mix with a win in both of their final games. Everyone else in the field is working towards finishing strong and getting ready for the conference season.
