PICK-A-SKIP Year Three (11/24 in) Topic

The playoffs for Season Two are under way, so its time to start taking signups for Season Three. The pennant winners from all previous seasons will be blacklisted from Season Three (see below). Rules for this season will be basically the same as Season Two:

Choose any manager in MLB history; draft players who played for him. Example: choosing Gene Mauch means your player pool would be 1960-1968 Phillies, 1969-1975 Expos, 1976-1980 Twins, 1981-82 & 1985-87 Angels. No twists.

$100M cap.
WW within rules.
No clones, DH or trades.
40 Live games minimum and all playoffs.

6/4 AbvAvg U-Pik AAA within rules...
AAA salary ranges
Position players: $2,600,000 - $3,874,999
Starting pitchers: $1,850,000 - $3,449,999
Relief pitchers: $1,500,000 - $2,774,999

Live leagues have been difficult or slow to fill lately; if you can make the 80 game commitment, feel free to reserve two spots. I just ask that you only reserve one specific manager until the league has 12 different user signups. Reserve your spot (or spots) today!

Possible blacklisted managers (this list will be whittled down to two as the playoffs for Season Two progress): Casey Stengel, John McGraw, Connie Mack, Miller Huggins, Fred Clarke, Leo Durocher.

Earlier this year, Stan Da Man passed away at age 92 (RIP) ... During the 1942-44 period, the Cardinals entered a Golden Age, winning two Worlds Series under the leadership of BILLY SOUTHWORTH ... During his career with the St Louis Cards (1929, 1940-45) and the Boston Braves (1946-51) BILLY SOUTHWORTH managed a great bunch of guys that included Warren Spahn, Johnny Sain, Eddie Stanky, Alvin Dark, Mort Cooper, Harry Brecheen, Johnny Beazley, Enos Slaughter, Whitey Kurowski, Walker Cooper, Marty Marion, and Stan Musial ... Thus my choice for skipper is BILLY SOUTHWORTH! ...

Welcome, hurricane; and welcome back of course to dahs, gus & josh!

Actually, scratch this Torre bullcrap.  The pitching sucks.  Probably could make it a solid team, but not good enough to justify playing this many Skanks.

How about Billy Martin?

I won either 105 or 107 games with McCarthy in season 1.  It can be done.

Of course, I got wrecked in the postseason...  I think in the first round.
