In the New GD, How do you designate Starters ? Topic

In old GD starters were based on depth chart and formation. (I formation, first 2 rb and wr were starters, etc.).
But I can't figure out how to choose my starters to increase their WE .
              Someone Please Explain ?

Its still set by depth chart, but its based on the formations you use the most. So when promising playing time and starts you have to look at your gameplans and look at what average playing time happens per position and plan from there.

So the starters no longer are shown on my roster by green dots ?  Is that correct ?

Love the new interface, grabbing a team in Bryant just to play with it. However, if someone could help us non-beta players out with navigating, it would be much obliged.

Agree with caesari - I haven't even glanced at 3.0 and am hoping there will be at least some FAQs

You can look at starters through the player settings screen.....It will tell you percentage played and games started.

Its not in the current 2.0 set up. The only change that happened there is the player roles screen being added to give you an idea of what your team looks like through the lens of the "standard 3.0 ratings evaluation". Redhawk is looking into why the player starts is not showing up, but believes that it is only a display issue. Your starters should remain the same.

There looks to be a display issue with the starters currently as nothing has changed with 2.0.

For 3.0 starters you will not be able to specifically designate them anymore.  They will be based on the formation you use the most in a game and then the top percentage played players.

So a recruiting tool has been taken from the underdog? Who's bright idea was this? Were those of us who play the game asked? Sounds like a conte move to me.

On the new Position Roles screen in 2.0, in the players list towards the bottom, there is a final attribute column titled the position of the players on your roster.

Is this the total rating based on the game's opinion of your player? Is it an accurate representation of that players performance in the new engine?

Starters are now showing up correctly.

Starters are still in the game and you can still make promised starts during recruiting.  The only thing removed was the ability to specifically set up a player to be a starter.  Now you need to make sure that your depth charts are set up correctly along with your game plan.

Starters are something we continue to review and it's possible that we might move more towards playing time instead.

The total value you'll see is based on your position role settings.  We set up default position role formulas that you can use and it will give you an idea of how they will perform.  However, they are not perfect and you'll want to consider adjusting them as you see fit.  You may want to weight work ethic more as part of your rating for example.

Once 3.0 rolls over you'll have the ability to try out advanced coaching which opens up more position roles such as RB, Fullback, Speed back, etc.

the cool thing with this is that you get to input your own Ratings system for rating players -- applys to Depth Chart and Recruting Search- no more copy/paste to Excel (it's a good thing)
