Melva Lou Thomson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania once received, as the object of his affection, a little "love bite" from young Branch, her first beau. Admiring his own handiwork, the brash young man took a photograph of Miss Thomson's neck and sought a trademark for the unique imprint he had deposited with her. Branch was not Mr. Rickey's real first name. His real name at birth, given of a cruel, stuttering mother, was Rickey. Rickey Rickey was taunted mercilessly by his peers in grade school until, the story goes, he tore a limb from a nearby oak and beat his tormentors senseless. Forever after, the man who would go on to become legend was known by one and all as Branch Rickey. Good thing he didn't find a tire iron that day.

Imagine a league in which you don't have tankers!  THIS IS THAT LEAGUE!  Coaches don't need to tank there.  It doesn't do any good.  You can do like a did, take on a team.  Sign some free agents.  Still sign a stud like Al Tocanto for less than $20 million in International Free Agency!   This rule truly makes it a fun league to be a part of.  Come join us now.  We have plans in place to roll very soon, so don't let that discourage you.
