point well taken Colonel, it is a bit much, but I was trying to make more sure that my "amen" did not appear to be mockery to anyone who comes along into that thread
You've got to be leery of people that go so/too far out of their way to explain themselves...usually means something isn't on the level...

The "once upon a time" thing was a dig...he knows it, and he's playing dumb because I called him on it.  He can claim otherwise, "Christmas spirit" and whatever the hell else he says, but he did the same thing in the p6453 Merry Christmas thread, mocking the fact that I said "amen".  You fellas need to learn how to read between the lines...I don't really mind people trying to get 1-up on me, but at least own it, don't be *****-made.

The fact that you think I'm arguing FOR superclasses pretty much says it all here...I can't make people comprehend things, especially if they can't see it for themselves.

before one reads BETWEEN the lines, it would be a great idea to read the words that are written- before you read the blank spaces in between and invent your own meanings rather than reading a post as meaning what it says

there was no mockery in either place - paranoid much?

in the "amen" thread, I joined in your sentiment and added a paraphrase from the "Grinch that Stole Christmas" - which I thought was very apt since I think Dr Suess actually used the words "what if"....I thought it was cute - maybe I failed or maybe Suess is unfamiliar territory for you.

And in this thread I thought that "once upon a time" was a good way to answer a query that seemed to be interested in the origins of a set of rules....posed on Christmas.  Since I have been playing HD since snakes had legs (that means a long time - yes, I am being condescending now) I thought telling the tale with an allusion to the style of a folk tale was funny.  I thought it was funny.  Reckon you didnt.

But, the paranoid psychology does not handle humor and social cues well.  Consider watching the Big Bang Theory and learning social cues along with Sheldon (tv allusion, seeking to be humorous and also to be demeaning but in a way that is more subtle and creative than your approach in which you launch a thread and hurl accusations of bullshit left and right at anyone who comes along and tries to answer a question.

Mockery?  it takes so little to mock when someone posts on the forum what amounts to self mockery.  Why would anyone seek to mock the colonel - he handles that himself.

See, this IS condescension.  Saying amen aint.  Saying once upon a time aint.

I dont play dumb.  I write what I mean.  I try to be helpful and sometimes to be funny.  YOU have often been funny on these forums - sometimes seemingly intentionally.  But, I do not like being accused of zinging and bullshitting and mockery by someone who clearly just doesnt get it.

There, NOW i have mocked and condescended and demeaned you - which I take it was what you were seeking.  You are welcome

I like this very much.

It's clear from reading metsmaxmamwhatever's posts over time that he likes to goof around with words.  Sometimes people just like to throw in some color.  Once upon a time, snakes had legs, reckon you didn't, etc.  Just *try* reading it as someone giving some background to the situation without boring himself in the telling, colonels.  You really have to be looking to take offense in order to be offended by this.

Then again, the apostrophe is left out of "ain't", so I take back everything complementary I said about mxamstetmsomething.  What a maroon.

I dont expect people to side with me.

Btw, Only filled 8 ships to date because I didn't have money I should have had to appropriately battle for the players I need...

I get that you don't expect people to side with you, but if something is ambiguous, or you think you need to read between the lines to get the dig, maybe you should think twice about whether or not you're offended, y'know?  Or "nonce" might be even better.

One thing I just don't get, though.  You knew about the rule, right?  I mean, you're not new.  I figure you had to know.  Why did you take that team?

Read my do you care thread

Avoiding the situation doesn't solve the problem

I read the do you care thread.  Did you know how much recruiting cash you'd get or not?

Let's pretend for a minute that mets was zinging you. What'd you calling him on it do other than derail your own thread?  A bit counterproductive, don't you think?

The rule is you get money for every freshman you can bring in, not every player.

the funny thing is this whole ******* match is over one of the few areas in the game the vast majority of coaches agree. its one of a special group of very few changes where there is very little discontent... almost every coach who has ever played high d1 fully supports this restriction - although many feel it doesnt go far enough.

colonels, theres clearly no way to convey the simple reasoning behind this rule to you, so just take comfort in knowing that if you ever manage to become a decent d1 coach, and get into battles for high end players with teams with mega millions behind them, you will understand why this rule is in place. hopefully that is sufficient, and if not, thats just too bad i guess, because thats about the only chance you have of ever understanding this situation...
