Ok, well, I don't believe I have ever had the 1st pick, & I can't believe that this guy is sitting there for me - we will definitely welcome the upgrade at 1B - as the Tigers select: Jeff Bagwell - 1B - Astros!!  I will sitemail

I think you are right Sin, I don't ever recall him being unprotected, I had to triple check the keepers on that one, didn't expect that at ALL!!

Yep - first time Bagwell's been available. 

Beltre's been unprotected only 5 times out of 18, and now twice taken in the first round.

This is only the 6th time the White Sox have been used, so a first-time event for them is not as surprising as one for the Astros (Bagwell was a first-round keeper 18 times in a row).

That said, Bobby Jenks has been a first-round keeper before: Leg 30, sinfonian11.

With the White Sox, there are only a few guys that will be potentially drafted, especially in the first round. So there's the potential for a surprising protect almost every time.
