Bringing Back Old Leagues Topic

When I first started playing here, there was a fella by the name of habsfan1 that always created the most unique ideas.  (At least, IMO)
Now, my question is, can I (or anyone, for that matter) run the same leagues?

As far as I know, he's no longer on here, so I feel it would be difficult to ask him for his permission.  Personally, the State Cup league, the username league and others were some of my favorite all-time leagues.  If possible, I'd love to see those brought back.

Habs gave me the right to the America Cup league. I meant to do it for months but professional and personal stuff got in the way.

I will organize America Cup, Season 13, this weekend, now that there's a long wait before the Super Bowl.

All his other leagues you are welcome to start yourself or recruit someone else to do so, as like you said, Habs is no longer on here.

habsfan still checks in occasionally, but I'm sure he'd be fine with anyone resurrecting his leagues.

Haha, that one is great too!  I'd be so down with organizing maybe the username league at some point if you guys want to start bringing them back!

As long as LIVE holds of course...

Gonzos, do you have to have Milton Bradley on those teams? LOL!

Habs also had a modern franchise 100M league with AAA (average? random?) and trades, no DH ... Years 1960 until today will be fine with me ... I believe that he allowed any 2 of the 4 expansion teams (e.g. Arizona, Colorado, Tampa Bay, Florida) to combine into one team ...

yes...either Milton Bradley or Dave and Jarrod Parker must be drafted by all teams.

I would be all over a Read 'Em and Weep.  I never did well, but it's still my favorite league.

habsfan's franchise league was a 40-yr time span — 1974-1913. I believe Below Avg AAA, no WW/DH, yes to trades. I don't think he combined any franchises. Weep is a great league, but a ton of work to run. You have to run a draft with unique rules about ineligible/eligible first and last seasons, and then randomize 600 player seasons. The added challenge for random leagues such as Weep and Board Game is that a small percentage of players will suddenly forget they signed up if they don't like the randomization.
