i like that camby season... love the johnson pair... (2nd favorite magic season... 1st being that awesome 9 board-9 dime-73D)... D. Harper in the 5th! nice pull - much needed 3's... never been a daniels fan, but i understand his value... however, 6th round snags were artistic and underhanded. antawn should never, ever go undrafted before the 6th in the odl. i debated between he and anderson for a long time. just couldn't afford antawn.

orebs, efg% keeps you in the playoff hunt for sure... just gotta wonder if teams will go -2 on ya defensively. nice drafting

Aren't you a little worried about the high usg% Baylor is going to be taking away shots from your better shooters?  He's going to miss a loooot of shots, and he's a turnover/fouling machine.  I don't want to sound too negative, but I just don't see how he fits on this squad.  His $$ is pretty substantial as well.  This is only my fourth ODL, and my first one in almost a decade; maybe the sim has changed significantly since the last time I've done this.

well, you wasted a lot of money on usage.

The ODL used to be a $42 mil league. Then, maybe 3-4 years ago (maybe less, it's hard for me to equate WIS seasons with actual time) they adjusted the salary structure so that salaries were generally higher. We played one more season at $42 mil, and it was chaos. Think about trying to fill out 19600 quality minutes (or even 19000) with 5 mil less to spend. xxevilxx had Wilt that year and drafted a team with like 17000 minutes that lost about 76 games.

Appleseed drafted the Baylor season you're using that season, along with a bunch of other old-school guys. It was a dirty-ball team, crazy low efficiency but super high rebounds and defense. We all laughed; he won something like 55-60 games and stormed to the title.

My point is, that Baylor season is a stud in a $42 mil league. This is a $47 mil league, though, and it's hard for me to imagine that you'll be able to absorb the big efficiency hit from having him throwing up bricks.

If it were possible to make Baylor work to some extent you'd want to surround him with high efficiency role players and lots of assists and most importantly you would want to play him at SF

Hmmm..let me see if I can explain this team. 1) Elgin & Kobe will draw the def and this pushes more shots to the surrounding players, note their FG%. Most of the rerouted shot will go to McDyess (22.5use / 53.6%fg). 2) The team has some serious boards, this is to support the shots kobe & elgin need to cover the low FG%. Dudley is there for the 174 oreb to recover some of the missed shots. Elgin is 351cred, 133ast%, def74...he's a beast. The team has reasonably good defense.  Elgin & kobe draw a combined 1664fta, and shoot 86% & 78% from the line. Lastly..GL stopping both of them. I have no idea if it will work, but I like the team.

"Elgin & kobe draw a combined 1664fta"

youll be lucky to get 1000 between them

tarheel...i remember that season...i had a really nice jordan squad drafted but had to use lesser seasons of all my guys besides jordan(i know using 01-02 ray allen was one) to get to just under 19000 mins...my guys were fatigued all year...it was awful

Never seen anything to make me believe that high usg players "draw the defense" and push more shots to the other players, smokey. It might make sense in real life but not in the SIM. And even if it did "push" more shots to other guys, they would likely have a decently lower fg% due to taking significantly more shots than in RL.

At some point people will learn that high-FTA guys usually don't get close to RL totals because there are many fewer fouls in most SIM games than in real games, especially back in the day (when Baylor played).

I got assigned Elgin in the Random Big 3 league this season. Using his '60 season, he's been my starting PG and has led us to a smashing 45-37 record, however, that gave us a first round bye. We're getting ready to start the conference finals after advancing 4-1 in the last round. Obviously that league is a very different animal, but still, it's something I guess. That year he is a 99 at point. The starting 5 only totals 38.6 assist%, ha! However, Elgin's 35.1 creb at point led to some nice lines.

He managed to finish 4th in the MVP race while shooting 39.9 percent from the field. Per game, he averaged 28.2 / 14.6 / 5.5. Most of his rebs were probably from his own shots. :) He's lighting it up in the playoffs - 31.8 / 14 / 6.6 and bringing that fg% up to 45.1. TIED WITH WILT FOR PLAYOFF MVP. Lol. The team finished last in the league in assists but first in rebs, at least. They only averaged 1.3 more assists per game than had turnovers. Staggering. Led the league in fta, though. Second in fga.

This team started the season 7-18...and is now in the conference finals. Only in Seble-merica!

Ok, now I'm done with my story that no one cares about. :) I just think it's interesting because I (and I'm guessing most people) haven't run a season with Elgin at point. So far, it's been a success.

Have fun, Smokey!

The Kobe/Mutombo duo could work if the other 3 positions are filled correctly.  Cheeks is an ok selection (although a lack of threes is somewhat of a negative).  McDyess as a secondary scorer is ok I guess.  I think the Baylor selection is awful, while the Dudley and Edge selections aren't the right pieces to the puzzle.  I'd be surprised if this team made the playoffs.

That makes Elgin sad. *see above photo*
