Franchise league 90+ loss seasons $80 mil (FULL) Topic

Who's tired of the same cookies and superstars dominating franchise leagues?  Well this guy is so it's time to explore the deepest depths of the WIS database.

Only seasons that your team lost 90+ games will be eligible and you cannot twist players from these teams.  That's right you're using players from the worst seasons your franchise has ever endured!

Also, to eliminate the dominance of Dead Ball pitchers, this league will be based upon the 162 game schedule (1961 AL/1962 NL).

All seasons under .500 will be eligible for the Diamondbacks/Marlins/Rays/Rockies since there is a small sample size.

Sign up by claiming team in the forum on first come, first serve basis.  NO duplicate franchises so teams will be exclusive.

League rules:
  • $80 million cap
  • Seasons listed below with franchise.
  • NO:  AAA, Clones, DH, Trades, WW, injuries, twisting
  • Use stadium from your franchise in one of the 90+ loss seasons.
  • SLL:  No requirements for playoffs but will be available to play.
  • Divisions:  Aligned by current MLB.
  • Standard 24 team league & playoff format.
Please make sure that half or partial seasons come from your franchise and eligible years.

There are actually still some pretty good players that will be available in this theme, most notably 1972 Steve Carlton.

I'll take the Mets.

The Mets have plenty of seasons to choose from!
2/9/2014 3:01 PM
we'll take Seattle Mariners

Lots of Mariner seasons to choose from too!

Hey guys, I just tried to put together a Padres team and had no cap room for a DH.  Would ya'll be opposed if we went without the DH for this league?  I realize it's a modern era theme, but there are still the Jim Kaat & Mike Hampton's of the world!

I'll try with the Nats/Expos. Would also vote for no DH if it's 80m

I'm interested as well. I also would go for no DH. Let me look at some of these teams.

Can we use players from any of seasons listed for our franchise? Any significance to years listed in blue?

I will take the Chicago Cubs. Would prefer no DH

Not sure what you mean by years in blue.  Something going on with formatting?  Every year listed is a season that franchise lost 90+ games so we're going with a new approach to franchise leagues

There is no twisting.  You must use players from the years listed of your franchise.

Colorado Rockies, hope we can out score teams . No DH would be fine
