Ask the question again.  Please.

Oh, we're starting the "so what?" phase of this thread early today.    Good.   I didn't really feel like rehashing the same thing over and over again with a guy who got hit in the face with a groundball that traveled 200+ feet before it hit him.  In the face.

Ball travelling at X speed, unexpectedly at your face, 60 feet to react = makes sense it hits you in face
Ball travelling at at least 1/2 X speed, unexpectedly at your face, 5 feet to react = WHAT THE **** IS WRONG WITH YOU, MOVE YOUR FACE

Logics is hard.
Obviously.   Virtually no one gets hit in the face despite millions of bad hops at many levels each year.    Logically speaking, why do you think that is?
And, yes, obviously logics is hard for you.

This is pointless. The obvious conclusion:

Mike is better at reacting to bad hops than Cabrera.

Why did you delete your "Bad hops rarely bounce high enough to hit you in the face" post?

Because you realized how stupid that was?

Nope. It was pointless to go down that road.

When you were in the outfield, and got hit in face, how high was the bad hop from the grounder that traveled 200+ feet before hitting you IN THE FACE, Corky?

Nope. It was pointless to go down that road.
So it was because you realized how stupid it was.   Good for you.

It wasn't a grounder.

Maybe most people realize if they say something stupid, and they take it back.  Others continue to insist they must have better reactionary skills than Miguel Cabrera.

It wasn't a grounder.

What do you call balls that bounce a couple of times, Corky?   Face destroyers?

I'd be trying to change the subject, too, if I were you.

It was a line drive. It bounced once just fine but the second hop hit crab grass. I was running full speed. Wasn't anything I could do to avoid it.

I'm not going to pretend that my ability to react is better than MLBers Miguel Cabrera, Aramis Ramirez, Joe Crede, and Gordon Beckham.

So, at your "high level baseball", what do you call balls that hit the ground twice, Corky?

In the outfield, when the 2nd time it bounces, it lands just in front of you? You call that a ground ball?

Can you ask that question again? It's fun.  Or tell me more about your superior reactionary skills.
3/26/2014 11:32 AM

So the ball that hit Miggy wasn't a grounder, Corkyjr?      What is a ball that bounces twice in the outfield called?   Line drive bouncer?   Flyball with hops?
