smokey, I love how you continue to stubbornly embrace this idea that ast% is more effective if it's spread out across your team despite zero evidence to the contrary. That's a man of principle.
I actually tend to end up with teams with more balanced ast%, too (although maybe not this season) but I've never seen anything to indicate that 5 guys with 15% is better than two with 30% and three with 5%.
What am I missing???
The chance that a player has of making the shot is based on his shooting percentage,
the assist rates of his teammates, his defender’s stop percentage (captured by defensive rating) and to a lesser extent the other four player’s stop percentages and the block rates of all five defensive players.
This does not say the overall team ast rate, but the ast rate of each teammate is used to calculate fg%. After I used this in the DDL to put +3-5fg% on most every player on the team, I'll stick with it. In the DDL there is more disparity and the effect is more obvious, but it exist in every league.
