if only someone were able to come up with an easy to implement solution to that problem that would actually increase the realism of the game....

Zipper

Dennis Rodman -- play him at the 3... 90D
Alonzo Mourning - using the 28%usage, 55%efg, 94D
Elton Brand - using the 24.7%usage, 99D (can play 3 positions) 53%efg
Jerry West - using the 71-72 season, 9.7 apg, 26.8%usage, 90D
Rodney McCray - 55%efg, 16%usage, good boards at the no. 2, 80D
Drew Gooden - strong Dreb/Oreb, 22%usage, 64D
Baron Davis - poor man's version of west, 31%ast, 81- 3's, 62D, 24.6%usage

some positives: versatile players, solid def, good percentages
some negatives: just 305- 3's made @ 38.5%, baron's 41%fg, zo's 308 fouls

might get to 50 wins

Okay tarheel who is your starting SF? Is it Moncrief? Don't the rules state that we have to start five drafted players? If Moncrief is the starting SF then Price is backing up Manu and Harper? Or is Price the starter and Harper is backing up both guard spots?
Ginobili will probably be starting at SF. It is annoying not having a starter who's 100% at the position, but I decided I liked Moncrief better than the guys who were 100% there.

Well - good luck to you, nate, but I don't think that's the squad to try to win with the the 50-pt Wilt (if it can even be done in this league). Looks way short on usage by any measure, although you might have some on the bench, and I don't think the D is good enough either.
3/25/2014 11:46 AM
My ave D is over 70 and at times my oreb% will be over 51% and dreb% almost 109% for a creb% over 160%.

Two bench guys, one adds more boards the other is another low usage spot-up shooter.

Expecting to get Wilt to his 50ppg with this group. No sub-60 D players in my core rotation, so I won't lead the league in points allowed like the last time when Wilt set the 49ppg scoring record here. Barry 2nd highest usage guy, Battier shoots 87% of his shots from the arc, and my other bench rotation guy is also over 50%PER and 60% efg, so if teams go -2 to stop Wilt my other guys will rain down the triples.

Enough assists to get Wilt in the 53-55% efg range IMO, if that happens then I expect an easy 50 wins and a deep playoff run.

I also think I'll win the pf/fta battle and actually like the fouls of Ray, which should keep them away from Wilt (something I've noticed with a squad filled with low foul rate guys).

Should see Wilt go 70+ around a dozen times, this will be a fun team and my most competitive in a while in this league.

3/25/2014 11:49 AM
tar, I actually would be happy with a little less usage from any guy not named Wilt. IMO the low usage forces more shots to Barry, Battier, other 60% efg bomber. My stl% will be elite when McMillan is on the court and solid when he is not, same for my blocks for the 1/2 of the game Ray plays. 70D average is more than enough IMO, and not going sub-60 anywhere means I don't have a position where I get hammered.

Low total usage likely means a tov% bump, but again I have some guys that have really low tov%'s, and my last try with this Wilt resulted in a lower tov% for him.

One thing is for certain, I'm NOT getting crushed on the boards this time around.

felon, it takes A LOT to get Wilt into the penalty, 52.4 RL possessions a game and 39.5 FGAs. But I am worried about Barry as my 2nd highest usage guy.
3/25/2014 1:15 PM
Also, if Wilt ever goes to the bench with foul trouble then I'm TOAST. Going to try an aggressive setting at first but may have to shift to very aggressive if the engine ever pulls Wilt from a game. No Wilt = 2.5 to 5 total usage points on the court for me = 30 to 0 run in about 4 minutes for my opponent, obviously that means my "clear the bench" setting will remain at NEVER for the entire season, but since Wilt had 48.5mpg in RL fatigue for him is impossible.

Yep, it's not Wilt I would be worried about - all that low usage around him is going to be susceptible to sim funkiness - the lower the attempt rate the easier it is to exceed and the greater the magnitude of even the slightest excess when it occurs - but we'll see how severe or frequenr
