NOTICE  - The 2013-2014 player year will not be available in ODL XLVII. Historically the ODL does not allow use of the 'player year' until the final  defense & salaries are set. The 2013-2014 players should be available for drafting in ODL XLVIII.

Smokey, I'm totally cool with a "random" division draw, but I MUST object to the Pacific having 5 playoff teams from this season in it. IMO you should do the following:

The divisions are assigned from two groups of 12 teams, with 3 teams from each group being assigned to each specific division.

Group 1: the 12 playoff teams from the prior season, if any playoff teams opt not to return then the non-playoff teams in descending order of record replace them.

Group 2: any non-playoff team from the previous season and all new owners (with the exception of the best teams possibly moving to Group 1 as a replacement.)

That way each division will have three guys that made the playoffs (or were close if we lose someone) and three guys that either missed it or are new.

nate, I'm in the 'midwest' with dh, ash and 4 of the top 10 picks. I view it as the hand that was dealt us. Blame Karma..I do. Your asking me to do a "rank order", the whole point of random div assignments is to avoid that. I'll agree that 3 PO teams and 3 non-PO teams per division may even the distribution of picks somewhat. Personally I think it's a roll of the dice regardless, and think knowing who's getting drafted into your division is the more important aspect. As this point is somewhat sticky, it's open to debate. IMO it's OK as is...

Also nate, doesn't that put the 3 PO teams at a disadvantage wrt draft position in division? That's sort of a double penalty 1 for winning + 1 for winning = 2...right.

Atlantic 2,2 (both 50-32),
Pacific 3,3
MW 4,4
Pacific 5(43-39), 6(43-39), 6, 11
Central 8,8, 7,10
Atlantic 9,9 5,12
MW 7,10,11,12
 
Come on man, that’s about as random as an NCAA bracket (the bracket itself, not the results).
