shaq plays 39 mpg...thats a lot for a starter
I wouldn't say "a lot"...that about the minimum I look for in a starter (aka Kobe). However, to each his own, I tend to lok for three big starters and then team players...it can be done a lot of ways.
Yes, it can.  Much more cost efficient going with lower minute guys... but I do like having one or two big minute players.

I tend to go for big usage/minutes guys and then Manutes. I think (though I can't prove it) that one or two high usage players and then three or four low usage guys costs less than running three, for instance, four point guys.

it most definitely costs less to do that.  That's another reason why a guy like Rodman is so valuable... tons of boards & defense... no usage (and super price efficient because of that)

I know I'm terrible at this game, but I thought I would explain myself on the Big O pick. Since I went with the Mailman in round one I knew 3 things. Assists aren't limiting my backcourt choices as much, I will need help rebounding, and I have usage taken care of. I have had Oscar in a theme league where I missed the playoffs (terribly built team) and I also have him in a progressive league where I find it nice to have the 44+ PG minutes locked down with good rebounding, Tier 3 usage, and solid D.

Big O is never a bad pick. His biggest negative is he turns the ball over a lot for a point guard, but the nature of the Sim is that he won't even approach his real life turnovers. Also it is really nice to play him 30 minutes the 1st ten games, then run him out 48 the rest of the season.

and then?

And then you don't need to spend bench $$ on a backup PG.

Use the money to punch up your Creb at the 2 or 3.

Not sure why Fat Lever has fallen out of favor in the ODL lately. A better than 3 to 1 A|T ratio, 80 defense, more steals than fouls, and 22% creb is pretty good for a Guard. His only negative is he doesn't shoot 3's and isn't a great % shooter, but his usage isn't high either- which keeps his $ price down as well.

I knew I was going to get him when I drafted Love.

First time with Rodman. He definitely is fun. I love the Dirk/Patrick duo up front, and it is only really plausible with Rodman's OReb at the 3.  Was happy with the backcourt and settled on a Defense first strategy. But those guys aren't bad on offense either.  EFG and Def look to be top notch for the 5. Ast are light, but not criminally so. Rebounding isn't what you'd want with Rodman as a head start but you have two options:  overdose on rebs, or simply let Rodman anchor the stat while drafting weaker rebounders who are strong elsewhere. Rodman as hub, surrounding parts as spokes. Not sure who is left in round 6/7 though, so tried to get as many minutes as possible.
