13-14 Draft League Topic

Should probably be last round only, with the lack of minutes those of us at the bottom of the draft order are going to get stuck with.  I'm not meaning to complain, it goes with the nature of being at the bottom of the draft order, only that the negative impact of being at the bottom of the order can be lightened with saving the double-pick to last round only.

I mean, I sort of see what you are saying.....  but there are still a ton of minutes left out there.  There are still 72 players available with at least 10 Min/82 available and 38 players with at least 15 Min/82 available.  As someone who will be scraping the bottom of the barrel with his last two picks since i am at the bottom of that round, I think there has been plenty of opportunity to fill up a squad and I think I will get effective players at that spot as well.

I'm not trying to cause a flame war or anything.  I am just stating that I don't believe it is really a problem.

In fact, you could make a roster using only 12 guys from the current available player pool and have over 25,000 minutes.  Every single owner who has picks left could pick solely based on taking the highest MPG guys only and there would still be gobs of players with extended minutes left.

Ben McLemore, Harrison Barnes and Evan Turner are still available to give horrible minutes

Andrew Nicholson and Kendrick Perkins

I won't keep going on either, but you'll notice you never hear that from someone who picks at the bottom of the draft, only for those who pick at the top of the draft. I respect that you made it A-B-B as often as you did, which works great to even a NBA draft, only that I would have preferred the double-round to have been last picks only or started with us B'ers.

My bad, this is why long convos should be kept out of this thread. Those picks are hidden.

DH for future reference I think that having to pick last in every round is a too much of a disadvantage.  At very least have them pick 1st in round 9.  There are no big men left and I'm short of minutes.  I'm not an actuary ,can't predict future events

JJ Redick and Jimmer Fredette

To be fair, you could have picked more minutes earlier on - people often make the mistake of picking high-quality short minutes early on and then not having enough to fill, no matter where they're picking from.

But if Durant and LBJ have their "normal" seasons next year, and you get a top 2 pick, I'll be happy to trade you for it

Yes and that's part of the issue. There's not a lot a more minute bigs considering a lot of them is 98% at SF. Im not asking for a normal draft. Just the top pick in the 9th round
