I see what you mean sooners07, so you are saying that the discussion is really about how representative a performance for that particular player in that particular season in the WIS database and WIS play a certain outcome is. 

Ok, I will cede the point. Sometimes I get too caught up in RL baseball and take it too literally. 

Luckily there is no real distinction because it turns out our RL universe is itself just a holographic projection and is a sort of simulation anyway:
