League Structure
Listed below are more than 100 different extreme themes to choose from. Each one represents a unique challenge. Pick your exclusive theme, draft your team, and let’s get it on!

RETURNING OWNERS Blacklist
Returning owners must choose a new theme or must have 25 new players if using the same theme.

Teams Themes
1. Lefty-Lefty Theme - Position players bat left-handed, all pitchers throw left-handed
2. Righty-Righty Theme - Position players bat right-handed, all pitchers throw right-handed
3. Switch Hit Theme – Position players are switch hitters, must have same number of LH/RH pitchers
4. Iron Glove Theme – Position players must be C or worse for fielding, range, and catcher’s arm
5. Gold Glove Theme – Position players must be A- or better for fielding, range, and catcher’s arm
6. Thief Theme – Position players must total at least 350 SBs
7. Slap Happy Theme – No player may have over 20 HRs
8. Homeruns Sell Tickets Theme – Position players must total at least 300 HRs, all pitchers must have HR/9 of .5 or greater
9. Big K Theme – Position players must total at least 1000 K’s, pitchers must total at least 1000 K’s
10. Walk Is As Good As A Hit Theme – Position players must total at least 1000 walks
11. Never Saw a Pitch I Didn’t Like Theme – Position players must total no more than 400 walks
12. Bull WHIP Theme – Pitchers must have a WHIP of 1.00 or higher
13. Platoon Theme – Position players must have 350 AB or less
14. Quick Hook Theme – Pitchers must have 150 IP or less
15. Big Contract Theme – Draft at least 6 players with salaries of $10 million or more
16. Little Contract Theme – No player’s salary may be over $9 million
17. Minimum Wage Theme – Player salaries are at least $720K
18. Psychedelic 60’s Theme – Players must be from the 1960’s
19. 21st Century Theme – Players must be from 2001 or later.
20. Alphabet Soup Theme – Each player’s last name must start with a different letter
21. All Clone Theme  Draft 7 players and clone each one three or more times
22. The Big “O” Theme  Must spend at least $67 million on position players
23. Pitcher’s Paradise Theme  Must spend at least $67 million on pitchers
24. Hall of Fame Theme – Every player must be in the Hall of Fame
25. We Are Family Theme – Every player must be blood relation to another player on the team (e.g. Joe & Dom Dimaggio or Ray, Bob, Brett, Aaron Boone)
26. Rocky Mountain High Theme – Play in Coors field or Mile High Stadium and choose at least 2 players from the Colorado Rockies
27. Baker’s Dozen Theme – Draft 13 great players, because the other 12 must be $200K players
28. Ends With # Theme – All players from years that end with the same number
29. Rainbow Six Theme – Players are named after a color (first or last name – e.g. Whitey Ford, Vida Blue)
30. Double Trouble Theme – Position players must total at least 350 doubles.
31. Fireman Theme – Pitchers must have a total of at least 135 saves
32. Decades Theme – Draft no more than 2 players from each of the 14 decades of baseball (1880-1889, 1890-1899, etc.)
33. Name Game Theme – Get creative; pick players with truly strange names or strangely related names
34. Stairway to Heaven Theme – Draft the number of players from each step – 3 Under $500k, 3 from $500k-$1M, 3 from $1M-$2M, 3 from $2M-$3M, 2 from $3M-$4M, 2 from $4M-$5M, 2 from $5M-$6M, 2 from $6M-$7M, 2 from $7M-$8M, 1 from $8M-$9M, 1 from $9M-$10M, 1 over $10M
35. Five-Tool Player Theme – Position player totals must be at least .300 AVG, 150 steals, 150 HRs, B+/B+
36. Numbers Chain Theme – Every player must have at least two stats in common with two separate players on the roster. For example: Cesar Tovar .300 BA, Tony Lazzeri .300 BA and 15 HR, Charlie Gehringer 15 HR and 12 3B, Robin Yount 12 3B….
37. IF/OF/Rotation Theme - Choose the complete IF from one team (Bench, Perez, Morgan, Concepcion, Rose), the complete OF (Ruth, Combs, Meusel) from another team, and the complete starting rotation from a third team (Cuellar, Dobson, Palmer, McNally). Twist the players from each set as desired and fill in the holes with teammates.
38. No Stars Theme - No player can be an all-star.
39. Twister Theme - Start with any single season team and twist; twist from the team as each player is chosen.
40. Rubber Arm Theme - All pitchers must have thrown at least 99 Real Life innings
41. Ancestery Theme - Players must be from the same ancestoral backgound such as all Latino, all Irish, etc.
42. One Plus One Per Team Theme - 24 players must be from different teams. The 25th player can be from any team.
43. That 70's Thing Theme - All players must come from the 1970's.
44. Roaring 20's Theme - All players must come from the 1920's.
45. 2004 Special Theme - At least 20 players from the 2004 season.
46. 9 to 5 Theme - All player salaries must be between $9 million and $5 million or between $900K and $500K.
47. Nickel and Dime Theme - All player salaries must be under $5 million or over $10 million.
48. Position by Decade Theme - Each position will be draft exclusively from separate decades. For example, all catchers come from the 1920's, and no other position can come from that decade. Positions include: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, SP (any pitcher over 100 IP/162), RP (any pitcher under 100 IP/162).
49. WWII Theme - All players come from the 40's when WWII heroes fought and the lucky ones came home.

50. Triple Play Theme - Position players must total 100 or more triples.
51. Sophomore Jinx Theme - All players use the season following their rookie year.
52. Stately Theme - All players must be from 3 states of your choosing.
53. Hail to the Chief Theme - All Players must have the name of a president. Presidential last names only
54. Five of a Kind - Must have 5 RH hitters, 5 LH hitters, 5 Switch Hitters, 5 RH Pitchers, and 5 LH Pitchers.
55. Vanna White Theme - All player names (first or last) must start with the same vowel.
56. Non-Hall of Famers Theme - No player may be in the Hall of Fame, and all players must not be active in the current MLB season.
57. All Star Theme  Every player must have been an All Star
58. Lost in Space Theme - All position players must be drafted to play a secondary position.
59. The 200 Hit Boyz Theme - Must draft 8 players with 200 or more hits in the season drafted.
60. Knucklehead Theme - All pitchers drafted must have thrown a knuckleball as one of their primary pitches - you may pick Canseco or Boggs if you like :) (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
61. Jug Gun Theme - All pitchers must have been known as fastball pitchers (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
62. Canadien, eh? Theme - All players must have played for the Expos or Blue Jays at some point in their career.
63. Charles Emmerson Winchester III Theme - All position players must qualify at only one position (bench excluded), and must have received an award or recognition (All Star, MVP, Gold Glove, etc.) in the season chosen.
64. Spitters Theme - All pitchers must have been known to doctor the ball (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
65. Splitters Theme - All pitchers must have been known as forkballers and splitfinger-fastballers pitchers (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
66. Two Players and a Pitcher - All position players must be listed as coming from one of two primary positions of your choosing. For example, if you choose 3B and OF, all of your position players must be listed as having a primary position of 3B or OF.
67. Curveball Theme - All pitchers must have been known as curveball pitchers (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
68. Changeup Theme - All pitchers must have been known as changeup pitchers (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
69. Born on the Day Theme - Every player on my team will be born on the same day of the month (such as the 5th or 11th or whatever) and at least one player from each of the 12 months of the year.
70. Over the Speed Limit All position players must have a speed of 71 or higher.
71. Homers Yes, Average No - At least 8 players must have 30 home runs or more. All position players must have a batting average of .290 or less.
72. Screwball Theme - All pitchers must have been known as screwball pitchers (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
73. Submariner Theme - All pitchers must have been known as submariner (may use the Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers as a source for identifying pitchers)
74. All Skipper/ No Gilligan - Every player will have managed in MLB for at least 50 games (using Baseball-Reference.com as the source for verification).
75. NY/NY Theme - Every player must play for a NY-based team.
76. Bay Area Theme - Every player must play for a San Fransisco or Oakland-based team.
77. Boys of the Pac-10 - Every player on my team will have attended a Pac-10 school.
78. Pennsylvania Theme - Every player must play for a Pennsylvania-based team.
79. Lordy, Lordy look who's 40 - Every player must be 40 yrs old or more.
80. 19th Century Theme - All players must be from season 1899 or earlier.
81. Windy City Theme - Every player must play for a Chicago-based team.
82. R.O.Y.S Club - Only winners of Rookie of the Year Award are on the team. Twisted to any season of their career.
83. Tribute Theme - Pay tribute to a favorite player. Use that player as many times as you want. Fill in the remaining roster by twisting former teammates.
84. Field of Dreams Theme All players must have graduated to the next life.
85. California Dreamin' - All players come from a team in California.
86. Alive and Kicking Theme - All players must be alive as of the beginning of the season.
87. 80's Theme - All players must come from the 1980's.
88. Obscure League Theme - All players must come from the American Association, Players' League, or Federal League; no players from the American League or National League.
89. Herb Washington Theme - All hitters are in need of a pinch runner - Position players must have a speed rating of 65 or less.
90. You Have Just Been Carded - All players must be under age 21.
91. Four Letter Word Theme - All players last names must have four letters.
92. The Perfect 10's Players from 1910-1919
93Sesame Street Letter of the Day Theme - All players' last names begin with the same letter.
94. Single Team Twist - Twist any single team from the roster listed on Baseball-reference.com
95. Crayola Theme - All players will come from a team that has a color in the team name (ie Red Sox. White Sox, Blue Jays, Browns, Blues, Reds)
96. 500-HR Club - Must have at least 8 players who have 500 lifetime HRs
97. Great Lakes Theme - All players must come from teams based in Detroit, Cleveland, Buffalo, Toronto, Chicago, Toledo, Rochester, or Milwaukee.
98. 25 Consecutive Seasons - Players are selected one each from a set of 25 consecutive seasons.
99. Binary Theme - All pitchers must have allowed 0 or 1 HR
100. Scrabble Bingo theme - All players must have seven letters in their last name.
101. WIS Rookies - All players must use their WIS rookie season.
102. One-season Surprise All players that had one great year that was above their usual season.
103. MVP Cy Young Twist - All players willl have won a MVP Award and all pitchers a Cy Young Award, but you can't use the season they won one.
104. Cardinals Championship Twist - Twist 2-3 players from each Cardinals championship team.
105. NOT Born in the USA - Only players who were NOT born in any of the 50 United States or D.C.
106. Star of David - All players are of Jewish heritage as listed from either www.baseball-almanac.com or www.jewsandbaseball.com
107. Pitchers Strike and Batters Walk - All pitchers must average a strikeout or more per inning, and all position players must walk at least 15 times per 100 plate appearances.
108. College Guys - All players will have played college ball -- not necessarily graduated.
109. "Noah's Ark" Theme - Pick 12 players and clone them once each. 25th player must be Noah Lowry, Arky Vaughan, or Curt Flood
110. Rip Van Winkle Theme - Each player, in the season chosen, must have played 20 years earlier or later than another player on the team.  E.g. 1964 Player A &1984 Player B; 1912 Player C & 1932 Player D; etc.  25th player is 20 years apart from any other player.
111. Franchise Strengths - All starting position players from one franchise, bench from another, roation from a third, and bullpen from a fourth, no twisting, using a park from one of the franchises.
112. MVP & Cy Young - Starting lineup must be made up of players in their MVP seasons, and the pitching staff is comprised of pitchers in their Cy Young seasons.  Fill in position players as necessary.
113. Am I Just a Number? - All batters with same BA. All pitchers with same ERA.
114. "The Gulf Coast" - Use only those players born in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and/or Florida.
115. The Babe Ruth Years - all pitchers are from the years that Ruth pitched (1915-1918) and all position players are from the years Ruth was in field (1919-1935)
116. Homers in Petco - 8 position players must have at least 20 HR's and at least 3 pitchers must have given up at least 20 HR's.
117. Even Stevens and the Century Club - All pitchers will either have WHIP of 1.00, ERA of 2.00 or OAV of .200. All hitters will have either AVG of .300, OBP of .400 or SLG of .500
118. The 100s - pitchers must total at least 100 wins and saves and position players must total at least 100 in doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases.
119. The 300s - starting pitchers will each have 300 career wins, bullpen pitchers will each have 300 career saves and the starting 8 position players will each have 300 career home runs.
120. Anywhere But Here -  Select a franchise, and make your team up of players who played for that franchise, twisted to a season they did NOT play for that franchise.
121. K-9 Corp - All players will have 9 or fewer strike outs.  All pitchers will 9 or more strike outs per nine innings.

06gsp: I'll probably will have a bit different pitching staff than your team (1915 Pete Alexander most likely to be my top choice, backed by the likes of 1902 Jesse Tannehill and 1902 Bill Bernhard), but as my top choice for position players, I'll probably go with good gloves (as you did) with my favorite Phillies CF- 1990 Lenny Dykstra, 1927 Pie Traynor 3B- with the addition of good glove 1929 Lloyd Waner in OF ... Currently leaning to Forbes as home field (not your also good choice of Jefferson Street ground) ...

I will take #57 - All-Star.   Probably goes w/o saying, but I assume a player qualifies if I "View Awards" and see "Yes" under "All-Star" for that season.

sounds like a good plan...i definitely got lucky with a few guys overachieving, plus getting a good AAA 2B to back up Lajoie
