Moby Dick's cool, except for all the boring parts

Lectures... meh...

Time to put my phone away. I'm writing from the ferry at Battery Park (liking my old-timey opening day battery of Ed Seward and and Buck Ewing, by the way) en route to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island - where one recently drafted Tony Mullane may have arrived from Ireland some 140 years ago?

interesting that you traded up to pick a stadium italyprof.
7/19/2014 11:55 AM
even more interesting because I really wanted to play in Coors Field

Jason Kendall's rookie year is 1996 bublooo. That is the year you are drafting.

Wait did I get skipped even though we are multiple days ahead? I traded up to draft John McGraw.
7/19/2014 12:05 PM
As per rules we can start the next round??, we are multiple days ahead, why should I get screwed because I can't keep up without Internet. **** I guess you can skip me for tomorrow's round(s??) since we arbitrarily start rounds whenever we want

sooners07 has a point. I think I forgot that we had basically done two more than one round per day. I saw the time, lost track of the fact that we had moved ahead yesterday (though we are at the stage we are, so I think only moving ahead one round yesterday should count, otherwise we would technically be days off the clock with people having whole weeks to make picks even for current rounds.

I am sorry dnmchill but sooners' right and I am going to let him draft McGraw. My own pick of a ballpark is therefore also not valid and all the round 17 picks must wait until all the round 16 picks are in. Once that is true however, round 17 is today's round and round 18 will start at 10 am Sunday July 20 officially.
7/19/2014 12:16 PM
Thank you, I love that we are moving quickly but I felt screwed there. I will get my other round 16 pick in within 15 minutes.
7/19/2014 12:20 PM
WAIT, HOLD ON,. TIME OUT. I AM GETTING CONFUSED MYSELF. SOONERS I NEED TO ASK YOU TO STAY ONLINE FOR A FEW MINUTES IF YOU CAN. DNMCHILL TOO.

THE WHOLE ISSUE IS WHEN ROUND 16 BEGAN. IF IT STARTED BEFORE JULY 18 THEN DNMCHILL'S PICK IS GOOD AND SOONERS07'S WAS LATE. IF INSTEAD WE STARTED ROUND 16 ON JULY 18 BUT AFTER ANOTHER ROUND THAT WAS IN COURSE AFTER 10 AM THEN SOONERS IS RIGHT.

HOLD ON WHILE I CHECK THE FORUM THREAD
7/19/2014 12:21 PM
Round 16 started a 9:42 PM last night, so it is technically the round for today and we were ahead of the clock as sooners07 says.

Sorry dnmchill. While we cannot go by sooners07's broader interpretation that we are "days" ahead, since that would risk to hold up every round for days, if we start a round after completing the previous round after 10 am on a certain day (call it day A), that new round is considered the legitimate round for the following day (call it day B) and no pick is late until 10 am of the third day (day C).  NOTE. UNLESS WE HAVE COMPLETED THAT SECOND ROUND AS WELL BEFORE 10 AM ON DAY B  OR DAY C, IN EITHER WHICH CASE A NEWER ROUND WILL BE THE ROUND FOR THAT NEW  DAY (RESTARTING THE CLOCK AT DAY A AGAIN).

We are essentially in day B here. Once the last picks are in for round 16, round 17 will the round until 10 am Monday UNLESS WE COMPLETE ROUND 17 BEFORE 10 AM SUNDAY IN WHICH CASE ROUND 18 WILL BE TOMORROW'S ROUND, OR BEFORE 10 AM MONDAY IN WHICH CASE ROUND 18 WILL BE MONDAY'S ROUND.

SOONER IS UP AND HAS MCGRAW WITH APOLOGIES TO DNMCHILL WHO WAS INNOCENT IN HIS MAKING OF THE PICK, AS I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY
7/19/2014 12:29 PM
Fritz Peterson P for my Illinois pick
