Assuming his last 4 or 5 years wind down as expected, he'll have 3,000 hits, close to 500 home runs, a couple decades of GG quality defense at third, and somewhere over 80 WAR.

On the downside, his career OPS+ is only 115, thanks to a sub-7% walk rate.

Hall of Famer?

He'll probably finish north of 80 WAR. I think Bonds is the only eligible player with more than 80 WAR not in. I think Jeter is at something like 73, FWIW.

Best similarity score by age is Ron Santo...

So few 3B in the HOF...pile the numbers up and sometime around year 10-15 of eligibility he gets in.

Santo is no HOFer

Outside of the fact, that he is, in fact,  a HOFer.

looking at black ink, grey ink, and JAWS, he belongs. Major part of his career in the pitching-dominant 60s he complied impressive OPS+, plus was an outstanding glove.

Only 13 3B in the HOF...why so few?

Because, if they added any, they'd have to be worse than Santo.   Which is hard to do.

Graig Nettles and Buddy Bell for the HOF!!!

Rico Petrocelli and Mike Pagliarulo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think third basemen get held to an offensive standard similar to first baseman, when the reality is their defensive requirements are closer to that of a second baseman or center fielder. It makes it tough. Guys like Roberto Alomar can cruise into the hall with 66 career WAR and an OPS+ of 116, while Santo is considered a bad HOF pick with 70 career WAR and an OPS+ of 125.

Looking at Beltre's similar batters through age 34, you see names like Santo, Al Kaline, Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken, and Yastrzemski. I think he belongs.

Damn
Words are too big for Sunday morning.

Really?
Average hitter with great glove in LA until last year of contract.
average hitting stats in seatte, gets a one year from Boston and suddenly hits again
Gets to Texas and improves numbers every year AFTER peak age for players (roids?)

He definitely screams of roids...not that Boston put complementary syringes in every locker in their clubhouse.
