I slotted each team into one of four categories (HR9, WHIP, MIX, BOTH).  To qualify for the "mixed" category, the innings count of your HR9 pitchers relative to HR9 and WHIP pitchers must fall between 33% and 67%.  I also made a second grouping for innings (for example: 1500 = 1500-1599, etc.)

It looks like a couple of different strategies can work.  If you went with the WHIP strategy, you needed to draft about 1700-1800 innings.  If you went with the HR/9 strategy, you only needed about 1500-1600 innings.  The strategy of mixing your rotation with both types of pitchers seemed to have the best success.

It seemed to me that the best strategy was low hr/9 with very good defence.  That isn't the only one that worked but it seems like the sim didn't punish the higher oavg guys like I would have suspected - seeing guys like Rixey, Leever, Powell and ('13) Cicotte among the ERA leaders in my league was tough to swallow.
