Those who claim Joss is not unbeatable, well, you can rationalize that about anybody. Personally, until they bump his salary a bunch, which WIF refuses to do, he is IMO the scourge of this fun game; and less so for a few other deadballers.

Schwarze, good opinion about the League 6; and I hope you're right, 'cause I'm one of those high IP guys.

BTW, is there a points scorecard anywhere?

We definitely need a tournament for folks who with limited interest/time in learning the intricacies of the SIM and just draft and manage based on baseball...

I went with 1876 IP in Coors - loaded up on mediocre pitchers including 3 dead ballers who can hit. My reasoning was that everybody will score some runs; nobody will have a great staff; the key will be to have a couple of fresh arms for every game. Through 8 games, I'm 3-5 with average O and slightly below average. As usual of me, I may have a big problem with blown saves. I don't think my team will be a 32-130 "death spiral." But if Bob caruthers has a bad year, I won't be very good either.

15 teams have Addie Joss 08' in the 110M league. Here is his cumulative pitching line after 9 games.

313.67 Ips     18 Wins``15 Losses``     3.62 ERA (league average ERA after 9 games is 4.38)

Jeff I would love to have a Joss Free tournament next year. Blacklist him in all leagues and make it more difficult to come up with pitching. I sadly decided to try make a Joss free team in the 5 x 5 and my dismal performance is the end result. More than half of the teams in the $110 that I commish used Joss and they seem to be doing pretty well. I agree with nhsteven that admin needs to bump up his salary. its just too easy to take him and make the rest fit. just my 2 cents.

Whatever criteria they use for for assigning player salaries should be applied uniformly. If you cherry pick players and adjust thier salary doesn't sound good to me..................

True, but there should be some systematic change to the pricing. Deadball pitchers are systematically underpriced, as are great pitchers.
