Games start tomorrow.  And so will the bad beats, 1-run losses, blown 9th-inning leads, etc.  Here's your chance to vent.

I'm gonna get my *** kicked by all the Joss virus...

The good news is that the maximum number of Joss themes this year was 3.   Last year, Joss was possible in all 6 themes.

Joss isn't unbeatable.

Movie quotes to sum up how things will likely go for me:

The before the tournament starts quote: "I'm King of the World"

The during the tournament quotes: "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" and "There's no crying in baseball"

The end of the tournament quote: "You don't understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender.  I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."

I am using Joss for the first time right now in  a league and he is certainly beatable. Now if only I could play against myself in the tournament...

I neglected to rename my teams on time. Oh well, people can figure out my choices (Dennis Martinez, 67 Orioles, Indians Mets) pretty easily.

Checking high-cap to low-cap: $120M loss, $110M loss, $100M loss, $90M loss ... I don't think I've ever gone 0-6 in the first cycle (kind of amazing given my overall record), but it crossed my mind.

Fortunately, $80M and $70M both won. but still.

0-6. I may need to start recruiting people to be commissioner in round 2

6-0 on opening day!  Why do I have a nagging feeling this portends a late-season collapse?

No, but he's underpriced by somewhere in the range of $2 million. Normally finding a player who is underpriced by $500,000 is a really good piece of drafting. So adding Joss gives you the equivalent of four really good pieces of drafting straight away. It's no wonder everyone does it.

11-1 after 2 sessions... I better shud up

All teams at or above .500. I don't think I've been above .500 in WISC since 2011.

And my Coors pitching hasn't imploded yet. lol

In league 6C, teams are averaging 163.3 pitches/game. If that keeps up, it means teams need something in the order of 1700-1800 IP/162 to survive. (More like 1800 with deadballers, more like 1700 with high K pitchers.) I don't think most teams have that many IP, so it could be a *long* season.

Brian would you explain why we would need more innings with deadballers than high K pitchers, because that's counterintuitive.  HIgh K pitchers should need to throw more pitches per inning due to the strikeouts.  I assume deadballers generally don't go as deep in the count and should be more efficient with their pitches/inning.  Am I wrong?
