Yeah that was quite good!  If only I would have had the foresight to watch that before looking at the tournament seeds e-mail!

Quarter Finals

The IVY has been quite active in this season's playoffs. 4 of the final 8 teams come from the IVY conference. Up in the North region, Jacksonville State overcame an early 7-0 deficit against Colgate, and leads 24-7 at the half. In the South region, Columbia is rolling fellow IVY opponent Yale, 27-7 at the half. Over in the East, MVSU is proving to be one of the toughest teams in the country as they lead Holy Cross 21-3. And lastly in the West, Jacksonville holds a narrow 10-3 lead over Sacramento State. If the current scores hold, this will be a repeat of last year's final four, with the exception of MVSU. Additionally, the IVY has 4 teams still playing, but if Colgate or Holy Cross can't pull off a dramatic comeback, there will be only one IVY team left for semi-finals.

Final Four

Jacksonville State vs Columbia

4 time defending national champion, Jacksonville State is back in semi-finals for the 5th consecutive season. There is no questioning the toughness of this storied program and the current dynasty that Pete61 has built in Alabama. However, take a trip up to the big apple and you'll find an IVY league team looking to make their first championship appearance since 93. Most thought that last season would be Columbia's year, however, a loss to Sacramento State in the semi-finals did them in. This season hasn't been the best for the Lions as they come into this game with two losses. However, they come into this game after avenging their earlier loss to Yale by crushing the Bulldogs, 51-17. Is this the year for the Lions? Or do the Gamecocks return to the championship game and look to make it 5 in a row? whatifsports.com/gd/GameResults/WISCast.aspx

MVSU vs Jacksonville

Grizzly has put together some of the best teams over the past decade. Out of the past ten seasons, this is the eighth time that the Dolphins have been to semi-finals. Despite all of those semi-final appearances however, the Dolphins have only one championship appearance to show. Akyarnell is just in his fifth season at MVSU, however, this looks like one of the most talented teams in the country. The Delta Devils come into this game with only one loss, to Jacksonville State. MVSU did beat Jacksonville earlier in the season, 45-31. However, grizzly has his Dolphins playing a different kind of football since then, and Jacksonville has been rolling. Can akyarnell get the Delta Devils to the championship in only his fifth season? Or does grizzly get back to the championship game? whatifsports.com/gd/GameResults/WISCast.aspx

*I posted links to the WIS cast of each game. The links probably won't work yet but they should in the morning. This will give you a chance to watch the game without finding out the score beforehand*

Champions again!

Yet again, Jacksonville State has shown their dominance in FCS football. In what appeared to be the most evenly championship matchup in several season, the Gamecocks dominated yet again. By halftime, JSU held a 27-0 lead. In the 2nd half, MVSU found their lone touchdown when John Cotton hit Miguel Richardson for 3 yards. This championship makes 5 in a row for Pete61, and it's his 6th in the past 7 seasons.

Great season everybody and I look forward to season 104!
