That's interesting. Especially since Lollie was clearly refusing to leave when he was arrested.

Oh wait, he wasn't. Never mind.
So you saw what happened before the video started? Can you share what happened prior to when he was walking and calling the cops racist?

Does it matter?

Let's ignore, for the moment, the idea that the security guard asked him to leave a public seating area that has publicly invited people to sit and rest.

Imagine the security guard says, "excuse me sir, this is an employees only area. You need to leave."
Lollie responds, "**** off, I don't see a sign."
"Sir, if you don't leave I'll call the cops."
"Go ahead."

So what? You said yourself that the guard can't press charges. Only the cops can do that. The video starts with the cop walking with Lollie saying that she'd just like to find out what happened "back there."

Lollie was already leaving the seating area when the cops arrived. That can't be trespassing.

I think knowing what ACTUALLY happened matters more than than speculation, particularly when your speculation only wants to consider the side of the story that fits into your argument.

And do you know that Lottie was "already leaving the seating area" when the cops arrived?  He may have still been sitting there, saw the cops arriving, thought "Uh oh, **** just got real", got up and started to leave while also starting the video.

Admit it . . . YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE **** HAPPENED THERE.

By, by damn, you're sticking to your side of the story.

For ****'s sake.  Businesses run people off who are just "hanging around" all the time.

Say he did that. He saw the cops walking up and decided to walk away.

Is that trespassing?

He was on public property.

For ****'s sake.

If someone lodged a police complaint, then they have to investigate it.  Or else, whiners like you would be complaining about how the police aren't doing their job and protecting us.

Of course they have to investigate. But they don't have to arrest and Lollie wasn't required to show ID.

Again, the part of the story you conveniently continue to ignore is: what happened, what was said, what was done, etc. in the minutes leading up to the video.

You're filling in the blanks with "he was just sitting there quietly".  He may have been.  But there is no concrete evidence to back that up.

He may have been doing something OTHER than "just sitting there quietly".

Seriously. Maybe he was having a rock concert with aliens. Or filming a gang bang. ANYTHING is possible.

The problem with your line of reasoning is that no one is saying any of that. There's no reason to believe he was doing anything other than sitting there both because that makes sense--a dad waiting to pick up his kids grabs a seat and starts looking at his phone--and because there is no competing narrative.

Why did they tell him it was a private area when it wasn't?
The same reason I'd tell someone to beat it they stood in front of my house all day.   Legally, on the sidewalk.

How would you react if someone stood by your parked car for hours on end?
Nothing?

You're parked at the mall.   Dude walks up and stands by your car when you get out.  You walk away, glance over your shoulder and he's still there.  Just hanging out.   How do you react?

You're becoming more and more badluck everyday.  Nice dodge.    It's a public parking lot.  The guy isn't doing a damn thing but standing there.   Do you just go about your business or not?

You're free to call the cops. And, if he's in Minnesota, he's free to not show the cops ID.

I think even you would have to admit that the two situations are different. One is a guy taking a seat in a designated seating area in a public place. The other is someone being weird next to your car. Also, neither is a crime.
