lots of wilts and lebron's... i knew these 2 would be popular picks in the first... but a bit surprising they are this popular

I was going to take 1314 Lebron at # 5 but he was gone. Jordan in a 50 million league is quite dominant but not as much in this league. I like him for about 42 mpg vs Lebron at about 37 mpg for the seasons that remained. I was really hoping that nobody would take the 6768 Wilt ahead of me lol. Too many sharks in this league.

agree about jordan... was a toss-up between your jordan any my lebron... deciding factor was cash. gotta be careful in this league with a 50m cap... goes quickly

I wonder how many "whoops" we get in the 6th round as the salary remaining gets smaller and smaller

I'm really excited about this league. Great concept. I already see it as the missing league in the ODL/DH/SSD Triple Crown.

What happens if there is a whoops in round 6 that doesn't leave an owner with enough salary to draft his last 5?
1/4/2015 12:25 AM
In my mind that owner has to replace that player picked with an undrafted player at a lower salary. Therefore that pick is basically forfeited. How else can we handle that?

perhaps each owner should be responsible for posting his total salary at the end of round 5 in this forum... he should have a minimum of 1.3 m left before he can proceed into round 6

The salary thing may definitely come up because there will be some tempting guys on the board deep into this draft. ... question is --  do we allow owners to reduce their Round 5 pick into any un-drafted player they choose in order to bring up the value of their bench in the end? So perhaps technically they can fit, say, 19,000 minutes with 239k players in round 8-12, but they decide to free up an extra 1M by "flexing" their 5th pick down at the end of the draft into a different player.

what if we forced owners to take a white elephant if they don't budget properly

I agree with Vance and scud.

After round 5, you still need 7 players to fill the roster. 7 players @ min salary is $1.673 million... I like Scud's idea- that way, no one can 'drop' a player they drafted. 'Dropping' a player you drafted is unfair to the rest of the league... Scud's solution would prevent any of that.. except that the amount of $ each owner would be required have on hand after the 5th would be $1.673 mill, not 1.3.

yep, 1.7m... not enough sleep these days. thanks for the catch, mile

I envision a scenario where a guy posts his salary, then doesn't account for all the $239k scrubs he'll need to fill out his roster when making his two 6th round picks. So if that happens, then Vance's thought comes into play.

i don't follow... drafting correctly is half the fun in these leagues... we all know about salaries and team building. if an owner suffers from too much eye-candy, then next season he brings to the draft table some prudence.

either way, that was a good catch, sly... bringing up the "whoops" factor.
