Missed second base?
JT Realmuto of the Marlins passed teammate Marcell Ozuna on the base paths. Fantasy owners must be ******
How is that scored? Does anyone get a putout?
RBI single, out at 2nd base. Don't think anyone gets a putout.
but hey, now Realmuto has something in common with Lou Gehrig!

What two things do Johnny Vander Meer, Allie Reynolds, Virgil Trucks, and Bob Forsch have in common?

I would imagine it has something to do with no-hitters, yes? Multiple no-no's, perhaps? Can't put my finger on what the connection is.....

Interesting question. Vander Meer, Reynolds, and Trucks are famous for throwing 2 no-hitters in the same season. Forsch did not; his 2 no-hitters came in different seasons.

So 1 thing they have in common is they all threw 2 no-hitters. But I am not sure what the other would be.

Contrarian23, when I was a kid in New Jersey, there was a game showith where teams from NJ high schools competed to answer questions very difficult. I remember the host would often reply to some brilliant answer, covering the French Revolution, German philosophy or nuclear physics with " correct for the first part. Please continue" ! I fear I must give you the same reply. Except to say that the second thing is something they did not do.

something they didn't do....hmmm

run a count to 3-0?

Are they the only players in their team's history to have multiple no hitters?

Can't be that...Verlander had 2 for Detroit, like Trucks.

I still have no idea what is unique to this group. There are (many) other pitchers to throw 2 no-hitters. I looked at some potential things:

-- Never won 20 games (nope...all but Vander Meer won 20 at least once)
-- Won fewer than 200 games (none of them won 200, but other guys with 2 no-hitters like Steve Busby would also fit that category)
-- Under-.500 career record (nope)

I'm stumped

I want to wait until itlayprof's question is answered but I might forget. Yesterday Max Scherzer became the 2nd pitcher in history to defeat all 30 teams. Who was the first?

Do you have a source for this? Wikipedia lists 17 pitchers who have done it.

Won fewer than 200 games. I missed Steve Busby, but did not claim that the pitchers I mentioned were the only ones to fit the category. So you did get it right after all contrarian23. They each pitched two no-hitters and did not win 200 games.

How long have there been 30 teams? There are already 17 pitchers that have defeated all of them? really? wow. Those 30 teams really suck.
