The owner who drafted whoever Slainte wanted would probably be happy to trade that player for Ruth.  And trades are allowed.

Just a guess here but it was probably SouthHeat sending a sitemail proxy to d_rock97 stating his order of preference of:

1. Babe Ruth
2. Barry Bonds

and d_rock97 interpreting that as the order of selection and not just his proxy.

Yup, I think that is probably what happened.  I got the same sitemail.  Perhaps it led to some confusion.  slainte SM'd me and asked about trading draft positions for the whole draft.  Since Ruth was "picked", albeit mistakenly, I would allow that if the owner trading to end up with the 1st slot sticks with Ruth.

The easiest thing would be slainte stays at one and takes Ruth.  Another possibility is we let slainte pick whoever he wants and go from there.  If he took Bonds, then SouthHeat gets Ruth and everything else stays the same.  If he picks someone other than Bonds, well, I guess we just have a "do-over"
