Bernie Sanders supporters are feeling a different kind of “burn” lately. They’re burning mad over a favorable article the New York Times published about Bernie last week, that was later heavily edited to become a lot less favorable. The “Bernistas” are accusing the Times of having a “pro-Clinton” bias. Really?
The first headline praised Bernie: “Bernie Sanders Scored Victories for Years via Legislative Side Doors.” The edited headline: “Via Legislative Side Doors, Bernie Sanders Won Modest Victories.” The newspaper also added paragraphs to the original story accusing Bernie of promising voters the moon, the stars, “and a good part of the sun.”
They called Bernie out for offering free college tuition, paid for with giant tax hikes. And more expensive government health care. The Times removed several positive quotes from the article, and said even “liberal Democrats” were skeptical of his promises.
It was such a hit job, that the New York Times ombudsman agreed with upset Bernie fans that readers who first saw it, would come away with a very different impression if they read the second version. Rolling Stone and former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert B. Reichhhh were among the Bernistas who accused the Times of bias.
What did you Bernie fans expect? The deck was stacked from Day One, you were never going to get the nomination! New York Times, but the DNC, and the entire Democrat party! You've been fodder for Hillary, you never had a chance! Wake up!
