IMO there should be a ban on assault weapons. No person outside of the military or police need an assault weapon. They really aren't much different than bombs and we don't allow people to have them. Used for pretty much the same purpose as a bomb, mass destruction or killing.

Owning a bazooka or hand grenades is illegal. An assault weapon could easily be under the same heading. Most Americans would probably back a ban.

There's going to be plenty of discussion going on in Congress before and after the election. Send a letter to Congress. Be heard. Put as much effort into that as you do here.
