The bias has been there for a long time. The polarization is now more pronounced. And those on the right have more outlets than in years past. Before social media, National Review was one of the few...

I read something the other day, a poll revealed that 96% of Americans claimed that the media did NOT sway their vote. Are Americans really that insightful, whether or not they are sufficiently informed? Makes you wonder...

Why is "America First" such a bad thing? Did you see that Obama sent the Palestinians $221M on his final day? Did they win the Powerball? That is taxpayer money...why do they deserve it?

I have no problem sending humanitarian aid. Sending money to the PLO, or Hezbollah? No thank you.

If they want money, we'll put them to work. There's gonna be a big wall that'll need painting...

I still haven't figured out what the point of the wall is... unless Trump has a company to make 11-foot ladders and sell them to Mexicans, so he'll build a 10-foot wall... that seems about in line with Trump's usual scams... er schemes... er ventures....

We as a sovereign nation have the right to preserve our borders. Obviously Trump believes erecting a solid wall will help reduce illegals from trying to enter our southern border. It is the government's responsibility to protect its citizens. Obama simply didn't enforce the laws on the books. His administration ordered border patrol to basically not do its job. Will it eliminate illegal crossings? No. But it could be a very good deterrent.

It is understood that most entering illegally are not thugs, murderers, rapists. But it would be negligent to not attempt to maintain a secure border. Not to mention a slap in the face to those patiently waiting to immigrate here under legal means.

Mexico's laws governing illegals entering their country are far more strict than ours. I believe they punish with a 2 year prison sentence for those who enter illegally...

Trump sees billions of dollars being made here by illegals going back to Mexico that aren't taxed. I think if he can put the kabosh on that, then in effect Mexico will indeed be paying for the wall...I get the argument that people should be able to come here freely. Republicans want them to sign the guest book, so to speak...there are legal means to coming here. They shouldn't be allowed to circumvent that, is the argument. The world is a much more unsafe place than it was when people were simply allowed to show up and move in.

I look no further than Kate's Law on this issue. She was murdered by an illegal alien that committed crimes here, was deported 5 or 6 times, only to continually reenter illegally before committing that murder. Why do we allow this? Are his rights more important than an actual citizen of this country? I vote no.

The reason immigration policy isn't enforced 100% is because that's a guaranteed way to tank the economy... most farm laborers in california and the deep south are undocumented, companies like this so they can get away with abusing their workers and threatening them with deportation should they try to report labor violations... if there were no undocumented immigrants, companies would have to hire citizens or legal residents. Now, in the abstract, this is a good thing. I would support this, except... when they hire these people, they then actually have to follow safety regulations, minimum wages laws, etc. In response they would probably just raise the price of food rather than hurt their own pocketbooks, which would vastly increase the cost of living for all americans, vastly lowering our disposable income, sending the american economy into a death spiral.

I mean, there are totally ways around this, but they involve things like allowing the government to grow food and compete in the marketplace. You know, policies you'd probably disdain as "socialism".

I am no expert on laws regarding migrant farm workers. But surely there could be some form of documentation, a verification process. If they have documentation and pose no risk, let them cross at designated points. A common sense approach could be achieved.
