If they weren't drafted by the team you choose, then they are ineligible.

The draft started in 1963, so I'm taking it that all players before that (even though the team may have owned their rights) are ineligible.

Hey, was doing some research... was looking at LA and EDM. They will get crushed defensively. They have no good d ratings on the back end, even trying to make things even with 5M cap. Wanted LA, but they won't compete.

Whereas, Buffalo is loaded on the back end, with high d ratings at 5M cap.

FYI
I drafted a Sabres team for a second one. Spot on re: defence. One or two big snipers up front, but I have never gotten diddley squat out Perreault or Turgeon (either one)

Is there a way to tweak that rule?
Allow 2 wild card Def men? Max them at 5 million,, but it would solve a problem. Just don't allow Harris Arbour Smith Lashoff, I'd be quite happy with Bergevin 88 and Van Impe 91
