The $80m 'improve a team' was my least favorite to build and is my least favorite to follow. I'm pleasantly surprised by my $140m team so I guess that's my favorite?

Man, every day that I play two or three of the big guns, I take a hit. Still 8 games over .500, will probably still win two of my six divisions, might even steal a third, but I went from starting to gauge the distance to 24th to crossing my fingers for playoff spots. (I mean, I wasn't expecting a top-24 finish, but if things trend that way, you start thinking about it, right?)

Probably going to whine about this at the end of the season too (that's what this thread is for, right?), but if you replace my 80M squad with cstrohmier's (and my original) choice, I would be one point ahead of disco. If only I had remembered the rule about combined season players when I built that team... Sigh

In an extreme improbability, Pedro Martinez and a 91% Mark Langston combined for a no-hitter for my $140M team.

This is absolute garbage. Leading 3 divisions, and now all of a sudden I can't beat teams 15-20 games behind me in the standings. And it figures it happens at the most critical time.

It happens. Was in very good shape, in the cage, before a series of 1-5 cycles last week. Now I'm on the edge.

Well, after 142 games three of my teams are exactly 71-71. Problem is two others are awful. One day I will figure this all out. Good luck to those advancing to Round 2.

5 game division lead gone after an L7

EDIT: Now 2 games back after an L9. It's amazing that a first place team, 15 games over .500 suddenly can't win a game.

My first schwarze of 2016! Moved me all the way up to 76th place! 3rd quartile, here I come!

My performance in this tournament was absolute garbage. One team in contention for a wildcard berth. Just about everybody else is in last place. Pathetic.

Interesting factoid. Of the top 5 owners in the rankings, bigmc and rbow923 have poor teams only in the 70 Million league. rbow923 is number one in total record.so far.

Man, these last few days are going to be intense. I have three teams +/- 2 games from making the playoffs. If they all miss, I could easily miss making it to round 2, despite being in the top 7 overall in wins (see my division analysis for how this is possible). In the last two cycles, these three teams are a combined 2-4, with four 1-run losses.

I do have some easier opponents coming, so hopefully, I don't pull a Jtpsops.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. One of my lock playoff teams is tied for 4th overall (out of 96 teams) for best record. Unfortunately, the team that's third overall is in my division (making me the wildcard) and my first round opponent would be the team that's first overall. So my potential 100-win team could be ousted in the first round.

Jeff, I'd be more nervous if I had a 100-win team facing an 82-win team in the playoffs. In WIS-Land, that's almost a sure playoff ouster...lol.
