For those who didn't advance to round 2, make sure to check out ozomatli's "NEXT 24" theme. He basically runs a round 2 for those who didn't make this round 2. You don't have to enter into all six themes.

Looking at the End of the Regular Season projected standings, 21 of the projected top 24 made it to round 2. DoctorKz (21st), bardin (22nd) and slainte (24th) missed round 2, while justinlee_24 (25th-t), Relkcirts (25th-t) and fooolishfool (27th) all made it. The difference, of course was projected vs. actual playoff bonus points. bardin was-19, slainte -14, DoctorKz -13 while justinlee_24 is +6, Relkcirtsis +12 and fooolishfool is +6 (all three are still playing).

So in essence, playoff results acts as somewhat of a tie-breaker for those people right on the bubble.

Interestingly, nobody with only 2 playoff teams made it to round 2. mllama54 was the closest (finishing 26th). He was +9 with his two playoff teams, but really needed to have at least two World Series appearances (or a WS win and LCS appearance) to have a shot.

Also, a total of 14 of the top 24 in the pre-rankings made it to round 2.

The average length of first round series = 4.02 games (so the average was 3 games to 1, which is what the math would expect)
The average length of second round series = 5.63 games (this is slightly higher than the expected 1.5 wins for the losing team)

There have been 12 World Series winners so far... the average regular season win total for those teams = 90.8
There were 96 playoff teams that got knocked out on the first round. the average regular season win total for those teams = 91.0

There is essentially zero correlation to regular season winning% and playoff success (which is not a surprise to anybody that's played this game for a while)
