They kind of have to if they're really serious about this Tebow-in-baseball experiment (if it really was just a publicity stunt then it really doesn't matter). He's surprised me and a lot of other people by being a good sport, riding the team bus, and living the relatively uncomfortable Minor League life happily enough. And he's played pretty well. If he were 20 and performing this well you might let him spend a few more months, or even the whole season, at the level and progress at an age-appropriate rate, depending on how you viewed his ceiling. But in Tebow's case, being so old, in order to have any chance at making it to The Show before he's way past his prime he'd have to advance quickly. He's shown he can hit and hit for power in the Sally League. Time to see how he does in the FSL.
