35 power and 55 vL is hardly a "destroyer". Also, anybody who starts with 54 arm strength can never be "elite level defender". You're never gaining 31 arm strength, especially a 27 overall. Keep smoking that good stuff

Anyway, back on point, this is my catcher on that team. I needed a guy who could catch maybe 20-30 games and be a 75ish defense C. Luther fit the bill as a VL replacement and his projections showed over 75 in the AA/AS/PC categories. So, as I said, I looked for a reason to take him not the obvious reason not to.

I have a catcher with 68 durability - his rookie year in ML he played 150 games, 121 started at C and another 12 at DH, and got 437 ABs. Like someone previously said, rather be pumped I have a guy to count on for that long for be sad I have a guy to play all year but that I'd want to improve?

I never play my position players below 100 percent either so I very easily could have gotten him 10-12 more starts if absolutely necessary.

I took a catcher projected to have a 62 durability with the 92nd overall pick. His hitting projects to 46 con, 95 pow, 79 vsL, 10p vsR, and an 89 eye. Will he reach those? Not likely but he may get close, at which point he'll dominate at the plate, DH or C.

Looks like in hindsight, your decision was made for you.

If you go back and look at the development patterns of guys in your league I'm sure you could find some that started out as 19 y/o's that increased that much in durability. Just looked at one of mine and found a few. Doesn't mean your guy will, but based on your scouting, seems like it's not unreasonable.
