an experienced (32 season) owner with a decent overall record, has placed numerous non 40-man roster minor leaguers on waivers along with his 40 man squad. besides hiding his "gems" in the forest, what's the purpose of putting the non-40 minor leaguers (all with options remaining) on the waiver wire? i didn't think those guys needed to clear waivers if getting traded.
