#3 overall signed with C+ UC Santa Barbara Topic

I was the lucky guy who signed the #3 overall with my C+ team! I was looking around for nearby recruits to go after, and notice he was considering only Sim AI Stanford with an A- prestige. I was very good on one preference, good on another, and neutral on another. No bad preferences. So I threw 100 attention points on him one cycle which allowed me to offer a scholarship. Next cycle I offered scholarship and another 100 attention points. This opened up campus and home visits. Next cycle I offered 10 HV, CV and promised 10 minutes. Then two cycles later he signed! All that time no other human coach was on him at all. Basically he just slipped through the cracks to me.

has realism ever been a feature of HD? in real life you don't bid dollars on players, players don't get swiped at the last moment after 50 home visits at 2am, there is no "rollover" budget, and the same 5 teams don't capture all the 5-star players without any competition (and get to rollover half of their budgets as a result, hah!). folks in the A+ prestige jobs are all obviously going to miss a process that massively favored them, but at the same time, isn't increased competition in a game a good thing? wouldn't you rather have new challenges and a larger pool of competition? some folks complain that HD3 is socialism, but it seems as if you could also look at it like HD2 was basically a draft giving handouts to the top 1% and leftovers for everyone else. was that really a good thing?

maybe you don't agree, and that's fine, but the constant whining/crying/complaining....come on, folks. get over it. either move on and quit or try to have fun playing the new version of the game. it isn't all great, but it isn't all bad, either.

I like this. If no big 6 coaches go after the player, I'm think it's a good signing. I think this possibility makes the game more fun for more coaches, granted maybe slightly less realistic.

Are we trying to use the exception to prove the rule? Also, should we start a timer as to how long it is going to take Western Kentucky to get on probation?

It's not an exception, because there are no "rules" regarding how good of a player teams can sign. Only probabilities.

Nobody else pursued the recruit, right? So this coach went after him while everyone else chose to ignore him. How is this an issue?

Did this coach somehow not deserve him because his school isn't a traditional big school? Should the big schools that missed out on him due to their lack of due diligence be rewarded by not allowing the small school to sign players ranked above some random number? Seems rather rigged and punishes that coach who did a good job of finding a match for preferences, early signer, and pursued the kid. Opinions clearly vary on this matter, and recruiting in general, but I think this particular instance worked out the way it should.

It is the exception here as well.. 98% of the guys signed as expected. 2 did not.
