NL South
Former Little Rock Franchise
The division winner from a year ago is a veteran team with a medium/high payroll and no bad contracts. They are a mostly veteran team but the star of the offense is 24-year old former #1 overall pick LF Wells to go along with 3B Lollar. They have six arbitration eligible players, so there is some flexibility in salary here. Last year's 12th overall pick (2B Wood) looks promising, as does the 6th overall pick from two years ago, SS Milligan. Another first round pick, 1B Coulter, could help. This team has the 23rd pick in the draft for Season 37.
Former Nashville Franchise
They'll have a slightly lower payroll than the Little Rock team, but that might be offset by one outrageous contract belonging to
SS Dixon, who can at least hit well for his position at the Big League level. Leading the team with a .967 OPS last year was the moderately priced
LF Hiram. Much of last year's team has expiring contracts or are headed to arbitration so the franchise has a ton of roster and payroll flexibility. Last year they nabbed
SP Shaw in the first round and they will pick 9th in the first round this year.
Former Durham Franchise
First of all, this team only won 39 games last year and will have the #1 overall pick in the draft, but the reason they didn't win was because the owner who signed up for the team never logged in after the world rolled and missed budgets, arbitration, free agency, coach hiring, and by the time WIS allowed me to replace the GM with a qualified owner the team had played 25+ regular season games and had 0(0) ML pitching staff that took weeks for the new owner to fix. The roster is pretty good, led by SP Cora, RF Reynolds, LF Loyd, and they have former 5th overall pick SS Achter on the farm.
AL East
Former Hartford Franchise
Hartford needs some stability as it has had four different owners the last four years. The veteran SS Stone is probably their best major league asset while SP Crespo is the best pitcher. 1B Dunn adds more pop to the lineup. The 3rd overall pick, SS Gonzalez, is in the minors and drafted that same year was SP Landrum. In S36 the team had the 2nd overall pick and selected SP O'brien. P Gongora rounds out the MiLB future stars.
