Ya. Cleveland would just take over Chicago's spot. 68 years is a long drought. After the Cavs won, they'll get lumped in with the Brown's...that'll draw pity for any franchise.

Cleveland doesn't feel the same as Chicago. They had a nice run in the 90s, lost a couple of WS and really felt like they had a chance. The Cubs have had a season or two but really nothing. With the best record, expectations are high. Not even making the WS would be a huge disappointment and they'd be cussing goats and Bartmans. It would be excellent.

Wow, guess Cleveland is for real. Somewhere out there Brook Jacoby and Cory Snyder are proud.

there have been Cubs fans here over the years that I wouldn't hate to see get that WS they want so bad, and there have been Cubs teams over the years that I wouldn't have minded see win.....but this particular group of Cubs I can't stand for some reason

I'm hating on Epstein in particular and the new ownership group in general.

Say what you want about Theo, but if he ends both the Sox and Cubs droughts, he is among the best execs ever.

Or, possibly, one of the GMs that's left alone by ownership with deep pockets.

He's already one of the best Execs in history. Period.

I don't think that diminishes his accomplishments. There have been plenty of execs with free reign and money to spend and they haven't delivered anywhere near the results Theo has.

Thinking specifically of all the ****** GMs the Dodgers have had.

McCourt? He sucked and he was probably too cheap, but he let Colletti **** the bed for almost a decade.

Yeah, that's who I was thinking of. I didn't recall specifics but he was always getting blamed for something.
