"Today's Game Era" HOF Ballot Topic

Would you be content with "Seattle, a great MLS town"?

Not one name on that list worthy of the HOF.

He accomplished something that no other commissioner had done before . . . peace between MLB and the player's union. That's a noteworthy accomplishment.
He also added 4 teams (2 of which have already combined to win 3 WS), realigned things into 6 divisions and added playoff spots. Those aren't things people hate and they're a part of the game to stay for the foreseeable future. I'm not a huge fan of Bud's because I think he played favourites at times, but he had a lot of substantial accomplishments.

FWIW, I also don't think you can advocate for Selig and not McGwire. McGwire, roids or not, revolutionized the game from a power standpoint in a way that hadn't been seen in a while - maybe since Ruth. Selig owes a lot to McGwire's accomplishments - especially the homerun race of '98.

Disagree. Players and non players can and should be judged by very different standards.

Really?

What was Branch Rickey's career OPS?

What was Bowie Kuhn's career ERA+?

You're a total dumbass for even asking a question like that.

I thought you were referring specifically to how steroids were dealt with.

I was referring to HOF worthiness.

It's OK. We are know you're a little slow.

I agree with this. It's hypocritical to hold steroids against McGwire while puting in Selig, when it was the steroid era that provided a lot of the fan interest and revenue that helped him keep the game stable.

Yet another reason to call the HOF horseshit.
